Unfortunately, he couldn't reinforce their mental lock any further, as he was only channeling his mental power into Layton's mental sea.
All he could do was continue removing the most aggressive pollutants, just as he had done before.
By the time he finished clearing out the worst of it, his mental power was nearly depleted, so he withdrew from Layton's mental sea.
He still had to clean a lot of pollutants so as soon as he withdrew from Layton's mental sea he immediately got a rejuvenating potion and drank it.
After he finished drinking the potion, he stopped for a bit to recover his mental power.
When Ryzel recovered half of his mental power, he wanted to continue cleaning up Layton's mental power, but Layton opened his eyes before he could enter his mental sea again.
