Chapter 243 - A New Karate Dojo

Cobra Kai Dojo

Johnny was sitting in his office, handling some issues over calls, when the door of his dojo was opened by a man with long hair, dressed in a suit, and carrying himself quite elegantly. It seemed unusual for a visit at this hour, but parents of kids wanting to train here often came to check on a few things before deciding to pay for the courses. So, Johnny stood up to personally welcome the visitor.

"Welcome to Cobra Kai. Can I help you with something?"

Terry Silver had thought about many things before arriving at the Cobra Kai Dojo. Returning to the present, he looked at Johnny, who was his old friend Kresse's former student. Johnny seemed to be of a good age, but he didn't carry the demeanor of a very intelligent person. Terry said, "You must be Johnny. I imagined you a bit different from the pictures, but that doesn't matter."

"Who are you?" Johnny furrowed his brows slightly upon realizing that the man in front of him wasn't here to enroll his son.

"I'm Terry Silver, and although I would like to say it under different circumstances, I am the co-founder of Cobra Kai. I'm here to clarify some details and, of course, for cooperation," Terry Silver said with a clever smile.

When Johnny heard this, he sighed and said, "I'm not interested. Please leave my dojo."

Seeing Johnny turning around to go back to his office, Terry smiled even more widely and asked, "Still, even though I'm the owner of Cobra Kai?"

"What did you say?" Johnny stopped abruptly upon hearing that announcement.

"I'm asking if you don't want to talk, even though I'm the owner of Cobra Kai. Still don't want to?" Terry directly used his last and best card to have a business conversation with Johnny about Cobra Kai.

Johnny didn't know where Terry's confidence came from, but he still asked, "What do you mean?"

"The name, logo, everything is registered in my name to prevent it from being stolen by a smarter person. The business world works differently than it did a few years ago. Now, what matters is the name of the owner to whom a brand is registered, and it turns out that Cobra Kai belongs to me by right."

After considering returning to martial arts and trying to make Cobra Kai great again, Terry registered the name along with the logo in his name, and surprisingly, it wasn't registered to anyone before.

Having become the literal owner of Cobra Kai, all he needed to do was report Johnny to shut down this dojo forever, but that wasn't exactly his intention.

"I didn't know that you and Kresse were at odds. He sought me out for help when he was only teaching the students of this dojo, and I easily agreed. As a friend, I also helped him with some financial matters, safeguarded the name of Cobra Kai from outsiders, and when I finally got here to start helping with the training, I found out that Kresse is in jail."

Upon hearing these words, Johnny knew he wasn't talking to someone who wanted to harm him, so he agreed and said, "Come with me, and let's talk privately."

"I'd be delighted."

When Terry entered the office, he reached into a pocket and said, "This is a photo I took a long time ago when I was teaching at this dojo." I admit it wasn't a pleasant story to hear, but I'm interested in changing the past."

The moment Johnny received the photograph, he knew that the man in front of him was a former and very important member of Cobra Kai, so he knew he wasn't lying.

"So, what are you looking for?" Johnny asked after putting down the photograph.

Silver smiled slightly and said, "I want to create a new image for Cobra Kai. I don't think you're doing a good job with it after what happened with Kresse. With my help, we could expand and make this place our domain, the absolute dominion of the dojo."

Johnny wasn't a fool; he knew that Terry's ambitions could be dangerous for Cobra Kai. So he said, "I don't want anyone outside of Cobra Kai teaching my students. Therefore, tell me how we settle our differences."

"Don't you want to see this dojo grow?" Terry asked, now a bit more serious.

"Not in that way."

"If you don't want something like that, and I also don't want to take the dojo from you with such a dishonorable method, what if my only student faces the challengers from your dojo? If they defeat him, then I'll hand over all the rights of Cobra Kai to you, and I'll open a new dojo elsewhere with a different name."

When Johnny heard this proposal, his eyes lit up, and he nodded. "That sounds more like Cobra Kai. We can do that."

"Are you sure? You'll have to change the name of your dojo; you'll lose everything except your students," Terry asked with a slightly wider smile.

Confident, Johnny said, "No problem. A bet involves putting everything on the table."

"Then, I'll give you a one-million-dollar check if your students win so that you can change many things in this dojo. It's a bit embarrassing for me compared to the competition." Terry said this as he left without saying goodbye.

When Johnny saw Terry leaving the dojo, he picked up his phone and called Daniel, who was a businessman. "You have to come quickly; this is an emergency. An old crazy guy wants to take Cobra Kai away from me."

"What?" Daniel didn't know why Johnny had called him.

"He's an old friend of Kresse; I think his name was Terry Silver."

"Did you just say his name?!"
