In order to have high chances of winning, Devon had to do everything possible to score three points in the shortest time possible, providing Antoni with more opportunities when he faced Jack.
As soon as the referee's words concluded, Devon quickly retreated, stopping at a safe distance.
"Do you only know how to step back?" Kim shouted as she moved forward. While Devon maintained a safe distance, Kim closed in again. Staring at Devon, who seemed to have run out of space to retreat, she involuntarily felt that this time she had the advantage. With that knowledge, a powerful fighting spirit emerged, transforming into a series of punches aimed at Devon.
Watching those punches approach, Devon could sense that her vital areas were being targeted by those violent attacks. It felt as if something was warning her from behind, urging her to do something.
Devon took a deep breath, carefully observing the trajectory of the rapidly approaching blows. She knew that if she countered correctly, she could score a point and win this round.
Pam! Pam! Pam!
While Devon pondered, those punches began to land, forcing her to dodge each one. Sharpening her observation, Devon smiled at each punch before noticing a crucial detail. "I found it!"
Just as Devon's body was about to be overwhelmed by the barrage of punches directed at her, her eyes widened in surprise. Ignoring some of the punches that would impact her defensive posture, she extended her palm, piercing through the oncoming punches like a sharp lance and breaking through Kim's defenses.
Pum!
In an instant, due to a series of complications, Devon's palm collided with one of Kim's punches, causing her to pause as she felt the peculiar movement Devon had used.
Simultaneously, a kick headed towards Kim's face, who suddenly recoiled, still impressed by Devon's ability to launch those kicks.
Kim was evidently taken aback for a moment as she realized that Devon's kicks were from Taekwondo. Immediately, with a snort, her clothes billowed forward with force.
However, even though Kim was cunning, Devon was no fool. Thanks to her keen perception, she realized what Kim intended to do. Turning around, she unleashed a spinning kick that completely halted Kim.
"Ah!" Kim fell backward as she felt the kick hit her stomach.
"Point!" the referee shouted, awarding the point to Devon, who stood tall.
Devon took a deep breath. This match was more technical than anything else, so there were no serious complications in the fighting process. However, what bothered her was the time it took to score points in each match.
"Curses!" Kim got up from the ground and looked at Devon, who maintained a serene expression.
The referee took a step forward and asked, "Ready? Fight!"
Sss!
Devon knew she needed to be faster, so she wasted no time. As the fight resumed, this time she didn't give Kim the chance to recover.
"Now!" Kim, who saw Devon approaching rapidly, kicked toward her face.
But Devon was quicker; she slid across the floor, and at that moment, her hand turned into a fist, forcefully striking Kim's leg.
Pum!
Without giving her time to recover, Devon slid her right foot down and knocked Kim down. Devon knew that if she didn't finish the fight now, it would take much longer.
As Kim fell to the ground, Devon held both of Kim's hands with her left hand and delivered a controlled punch to Kim's face, who struggled to break free.
"Point, winner!" the referee shouted, seeing that Kim had been brought down and Devon maintained control from above.
When the referee declared the winner, the audience erupted in cheers.
Devon stepped away from Kim, but not before extending her hand towards her; she knew they were rivals, but that didn't mean they hated each other.
Kim, who had been completely defeated, pushed away Devon's hand and returned to her place without saying a word. She had always won at everything she set her mind to, but after meeting Devon, she knew she couldn't beat her.
Returning to her corner, Dash, who was waiting, hugged her and said, "That was impressive; well done."
"Yeah..." Devon smiled with happiness; even though it was a victory without an official prize, she felt happy to win.
