Chapter 149 - New Sensei

"Congratulations once again to the students who have completed a full year of training at Sakuda Bushido. Even if you don't realize it, we are proud of your perseverance, and we just want to convey that if you compete with Sakura Bushido, fight until your teeth crack!"

"Yes, Sensei!"

Devon, who was by the side, smiled. She could see the serious looks on everyone's faces and knew that Dash's speeches always proved effective for those who listened.

Now with morale boosted, it was time to announce the new changes that would be made in the Dojo, both in training and schedules.

"Now we will announce the changes in Sakuda Bushido. Pay close attention as this will influence the future." Devon handed a pair of eyes to Dash, who was better at communicating.

After finishing this attempt at motivation, Dash moved on to the next change that would happen in this martial arts school and said, "Now, everyone knows that Kung Fu is taught here, so you must be aware that within Kung Fu, there are branches of Jiu-jitsu, Karate, fist strikes, and techniques for subduing the enemy."

When everyone heard this, they nodded. Many had focused more on Karate because it was more famous than other deeper styles and much easier to learn. But most knew that martial arts make up the entire set of Kung Fu, so they listened carefully to the explanation.

"Very well, precisely because of that, the Sakura Bushido martial arts school will be divided into two. One will only teach Karate, and for those who want to continue with training, they can move on to the next level, where they will be taught real Kung Fu."

With this, Dash did not want to separate the classes but create subdivisions where each would learn through a process, and he said, "For that reason, this school will be divided into floors. The first will focus on Jiu-jitsu, the second on Karate, and the third on full Kung Fu."

"Everyone can learn martial arts in a few weeks, but becoming an expert takes years of training, and you will understand the difference as you advance in classes."

Now that Sakura Bushido had more than a hundred students, more teachers had been hired to teach Jiu-jitsu, others to teach the use of training tools, and obviously, Mr. Kim, who was the head teacher.

Looking at the scattered students, Dash then said, "Now, it is not mandatory to learn everything that will be taught here, and everyone is free to pursue what they want to achieve. If you are looking for self-defense, Karate is the most suitable thing you can find as it is easy and effective."

"However, remember that a good fight is one that is avoided at all costs, although you must also remember that not in all situations can a fight be avoided."

After finishing what he wanted to say, Dash pointed towards the door where a figure was standing and said, "I present to you Sensei Chozen Toguchi, the mentor you will have from now on to learn Karate. All new recruits will learn Karate from Sensei Chozen and strictly follow his teachings."

"Many of you know Mr. LaRusso; besides selling cars, he now seems to want to open his own Karate Dojo. What you don't know is that this gentleman understands the same martial art in depth, much deeper, I would say, so you will be in good hands."

Chozen smiled at seeing all the students in this beautiful Dojo. He had heard Dash boast, but it is truly a nice place where he could clear his mind and find new purposes.

"Will you not pay your respects?" Devon shouted, bringing everyone back from their thoughts.

"Greetings, Sensei!"

Chozen nodded and said, "You have a good leader, one who cares a lot about you, and that is good."

"Now, let me be your Sensei for today, and let's see how well or how poorly you are."

When Dash assigned the class to Chozen, he walked alongside Devon, and they formed with the other students who were waiting to hear the class of the new Sensei, who being Japanese promised a lot in his classes.

"I want you to sit properly depending on your stay in the dojo, your skills, and experience," the serene Chozen said briefly, and in an instant, all the students moved.

According to their experience and following traditions, lower-ranked students sit near the main entrance to quickly deal with any intruders and protect the dojo.

Higher-ranked students sit far from the main entrance. This positioning is to protect the highest-ranking person in the dojo.

On the right side were Dash followed by Devon, while on the other side, the new students and those who had been training for no more than a year sat.

Seeing how organized everyone was, Chozen nodded in approval. "Very well, that is perfect."
