Chapter 109 - Devon Lee's Conviction

The next day, Devon got up to go to classes. This time she was driven by her father, and things seemed very different without Dash by her side. The last time she didn't go to school with him was when Dash had caught a cold.

But she wasn't nervous or sad; she had promised her mother, and that's exactly what she would do from now on. As she walked towards the entrance, a voice came from her side, catching her attention.

"Devon, where is Dash?" Miguel, who had investigated some of Dash's fights, was very excited to ask her about some things.

Devon turned her head to face him and replied, "You won't see him for some time; he's in Japan."

"Japan? What is he doing in Japan?" Miguel asked, very confused because this would imply that Dash would be absent from school for a long time.

"He went to participate in a tournament, but that's not your concern. Why do you want to know?" Devon looked at Miguel with a bit of confusion.

"Well, I heard he fought in the bathrooms, someone got confused and thought it was me who hit them... It's a huge mess, but it's not to incriminate him or anything; I just wanted to ask him to leave those guys to me since I'll take care of them." Miguel didn't know how to express his words to Devon because she had a very serious expression.

Devon nodded indifferently and said, "Well, now that you know the answer to your question, that's it... But using your Karate to beat up bullies is a very bad idea. It generally creates more trouble, and if Dash fought against people outside of competitions, it's because they crossed the limits."

"Oh, I'll keep that in mind... By the way, are those Dash fights on his Dojo's page all the most outstanding ones?" Miguel had visited the Sakura Bushido page, where he found Dash's matches, so he was very interested.

Devon shook her head and said, "No, not at all. Those are preliminary fights; we don't upload the finals because that would give too much information to his rivals for upcoming competitions, although it wouldn't help them anyway."

After saying those words, Devon walked away from Miguel. She least wanted to talk to people.

Seeing Devon walk away, Miguel stayed silent for a few seconds, and a voice beside him asked, "Do you know anything about Dash?"

"I think he got suspended for a few days..."

Demetri looked at Eli and said, "No one found out about Dash's fight except Miguel. Why would the school suspend him?"

"He's in Japan; his girlfriend told me he's in a competition, but she didn't mention what, although it's obvious..." Miguel replied, looking at his friends.

Eli aside said, "Watch those fights; that guy is incredible... Now I'm more interested in joining a Dojo."

"So why not join my master's Dojo? If you're interested, it's called Cobra Kai; that's a really amazing place." Miguel presented his Dojo very excitedly.

Demetri smiled and said sarcastically, "It seems like a good Dojo, but looking at you, I can't see the results..."

Eli nodded at this and said, "Sakura Bushido is a good choice; I read their requirements, and they are truly masters because they have numerous championships to their name."

Miguel frowned and complained, "I've been training for a short time; once I learn more, I'll be a war machine."

"Whatever you say, let's go to class..."

Japan, Okinawa.

In an underground place in the same hotel where Dash was staying, Dash was led along with his manager, Santiago, and his assistant, Elliot. They descended to a place where the tournament would take place, and from what they saw, it was a fantastic place with numerous private rooms where people in extravagant suits were present.

"Look at them; one of them will be your sponsor, and the way to choose is by making an initial bid to have a private auction with them... They'll pick you like candy if you're important, then they'll auction you off now that one of the VIPs takes you as their sponsor."

Dash looked at Santiago and asked, "What if I only have one sponsor?"

"Everyone will have one if they pass the preliminaries, and if only one is interested in you, obviously, they will directly be your sponsor." Santiago walked towards a registration area to take the list of fights.
