"Did anyone see you?" Devon, after dragging Dash to a small room inside the debate club, looked at her bloody knuckles and she asked him in a very calm manner.
Dash shook his head: "No one saw me, those bullies probably don't have the courage to mess with us again either."
In every serious moment she felt protected by Dash, it was a unique sensation that only she could allow herself and this eventually made her begin to feel something more than friendship for him.
She didn't care to know what would happen in the future, nor did she want to find out if this was a good idea. The only thing she wanted now was to have Dash close to her and only from this moment on would she be in charge of protecting him just as he had done.
"Don't fight for me again, do you understand that?" Devon asked, totally against Dash fighting for her, especially in a place where he could end up in a bad position like he was at school.
Dash looked into Devon's serious eyes and nodded. "I won't fight for you again, but I can't promise that I won't fight back if they step forward first."
Knowing that Devon didn't want to be a protege, Dash understood that she meant that she was worried about him getting into unnecessary trouble. Being now sixteen years old, fighting with younger boys was not a very good thing, plus he was a year behind because he previously lost years before being able to enter a school.
Devon on her side was fourteen, she stayed in good shape and looked older because since she was little she began training at the same time as Dash in Kung Fu.
They were both mature, they perfectly understood the types of scenarios that would happen if either of them decided to take a step in their relationship that she purely started to become a romantic one. Everyone had the right to feel her love, it was not a crime that he was now infatuated with her.
Time would judge their relationship, so making a decision Dash held Devon's cheeks and gave him a kiss while she looked for the things she would use to clean Dash's wounds.
That kiss took Devon by surprise, she couldn't react in time and after a few seconds when she knew what was happening she closed her eyes letting this sensation pass.
Being their first kiss, everything was very clumsy but the butterflies began to be felt inside their bodies. Devon, who at first wanted to resist because she was afraid to take the first step, let herself go and soon began to reciprocate that kiss.
By the time they were both running out of air, they heard sounds coming from the entrance to the debate classroom and because they had the door open to the room they were in they both stopped.
"We won't ruin it, don't be afraid." Dash said as he went first next to the first aid kit into the room and sat on a table to treat his wounds that were bleeding a little.
When the two girls who were outside entered they learned that someone was already in the room so they politely greeted Dash who had a very admirable appearance.
Members later Devon came out of the room where they stored things with her face still a little red and after greeting the girls who were in the distance she sat down in front of Dash to help him.
"We won't tell our parents." Devon at one point brought this up because it would be so embarrassing.
Dash smiled slightly and murmured, "Understood, now, don't you want to pick a nickname for your handsome boyfriend?"
Devon's hidden joy cooled several degrees upon hearing Dash's suggestion and she quickly responded, "Yes, I'll call you Dash and you'll call me Devon, is that okay?"
"Much more romantic than I expected, by the way, now that I've experienced my first kiss I think I may become somewhat addicted to that feeling..." At the moment Dash was about to continue talking nonsense, Devon, who was bandaged, tightened his grip on her hand. strength to prevent him from continuing to speak.
Devon looked at Dash with a bit of embarrassment and pointed out, "Last time you said not many things would change, what are you doing right now?"
"Things will be even more interesting, but we'll leave that for outside of school." Dash smiled mischievously and just as she was about to continue teasing Devon the other members began to arrive.
Maybe at this moment they are an unexpected couple, but being something so serious taken by both of them, they knew that they would not have those silly problems that couples endured every day.
But just when everything seemed to be going perfect, Devon received a call that changed the expression on her face and she responded: "Yes dad, Dash can take me so don't worry."
