"How many do you think will come tomorrow?"
The question took Devon by surprise, but she smiled. "Many more than we think. It seems that everyone who came is very interested in learning martial arts, so I believe that most will show up tomorrow."
She knew that in most cases, new students didn't show up for classes again due to the intense first teaching session. The practical class that Dash did with Devon was something she recommended him not to do, but as the classes went by, she believed that maybe it was the right thing.
No one who has learned martial arts is an expert in dodging bullets; that's not even possible. Because of this, non-young boys might get the wrong idea about learning in this place.
Dash was surprised by the response, but only for a moment; then, he nodded in understanding. The lack of explanation for why this was happening didn't make sense; much earlier, that hadn't happened, and now it seems that things were changing.
Having a slight suspicion of what he had heard, he wondered aloud, "Could it be because of that?"
Devon turned her head to see the students still training, throwing punches in the air. "You're a bit off after hearing about Cobra Kai. Do you have something on your mind that you want to share?"
They had known each other for a long time, enough to know that something was going on in these kinds of moments, so Devon wanted to know what Dash was thinking at that moment.
Dash thought about it and then said, "Cobra Kai was a very famous Dojo, but its relationship in the last two years with Daniel LaRusso was the worst. I can't judge both sides since there's no one who is entirely right, but things will get stirred up if they meet again, and they surely will."
Devon seemed to understand, but she still didn't fully understand why Dash was concerned; other people's problems shouldn't be theirs, so there was no way that was the only thing.
"We'll visit that Dojo tomorrow; it would be interesting to see how the Sensei is and find out how far they'll go." Dash wanted to visit it and see if it was who he thought it was.
Dash seemed to have a lot on his mind, so Devon went back to finish a few more exercises before concluding the class and starting to train a little more before heading home.
Returning to his training, Dash began to hit the training dummy with precise blows, and suddenly, his fists opened, turning his attacks into open-palm strikes, becoming even faster and more agile.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
The strong punches were effective because Dash combined fist attacks with open palms. This set of completely different techniques had become more agile. It demonstrated that his complete mastery of these attacks was absolute and that he had trained them countless times.
At the end of the demonstration, a figure appeared behind him. "Excellent."
Just as Dash stopped, an excited voice was heard very close. Immediately after turning around, he could see Mr. Kim, who had come down from the second floor to see the progress of the classes and could see that Dash's speed hadn't diminished at all.
"Attention Class!" Devon shouted when she saw that Mr. Kim had arrived.
"Already!"
All those who were practicing straight punches and the Kung Fu stance stopped, looked at Devon, and waited for instructions.
"Rest!"
"Yes, Sensei!"
Mr. Kim nodded, seeing that everyone had correctly executed the rest. He didn't doubt the skills of Devon and Dash, who were the best students at Sakura Bushido, but as the teacher of both, he didn't have to leave all the work to them, so he came down to see the progress.
"You should already know your Sensei Devon Lee and Dash Hale; both are the stars of Sakura Bushido and some of the best fighters in the country, being the youngest to win championships that others couldn't in their youth."
"Yes, Sensei!"
Mr. Kim nodded and said, "The battles in the tournaments are incredible, but only the main students have the right to participate in them. But don't worry; talent overcomes many things, so everyone has the opportunity to ascend to the main class as long as they win the tournament that we do every year exclusively for Sakura Bushido students."
"Of course, only the outer class is considered for that tournament, and among the best, besides moving up a class, they will have the opportunity to challenge any Sakura Bushido student. Understand that the best students will be considered for national and international tournaments, so today you may be training here, but by tomorrow, you could be on your way to China to participate in a tournament."
All the new students looked at each other in surprise; they didn't think this Dojo was so famous since it wasn't talked about much on social media. However, after today, they would realize that many of the things they were unaware of are more incredible than they seem.
"But don't get too excited; you can find the fights from many of our competitions on our website. Also, if you consider continuing training, you'll need your uniform." Mr. Kim nodded towards the class and said, "That's all for today; go rest and decide if you belong to Sakura Bushido or not."
"Yes, Sensei!"
All the new students broke ranks and began to move away to the area where they had left their shoes.
Many loved being able to come to this place, so after today, they will keep coming because it seemed like a very decent place with clean principles.
