Chapter 79 - The New Students

In his final days in China, Dash spent his time training with Mr. Han, accompanied by Devon, who had also been training very hard after witnessing the combat levels in this country.

"You need to flow more with your movements; remember that everything is in your mind, and you can achieve anything with it," Mr. Han instructed Devon's movements, considering her the most rigid.

During this time, they cleaned up the place after doing the shopping, and the renovations of the area where the Sakura Bushido school would be located had begun.

With little time left in this place, Dash asked Mr. Han to evaluate his Kung Fu, and any advice he had would be welcome. It's not that he didn't trust Mr. Kim; on the contrary, he wanted to know, in the eyes of a good master like Mr. Han, how good he would be here in a few years.

"Mr. Han, do you know that Sakura Bushido is a karate champion? I don't mean to brag, but I think I'm starting to become famous..." Dash was sitting on the side of the mat, watching Devon perform her movements.

"In that tournament where you got hit on the forehead?" Mr. Han pointed to his face and smiled nonchalantly.

"Yes, whatever. Dre couldn't continue participating after a leg injury, so I'm the star of Sakura Bushido; Devon doesn't count in this discussion."

"Do you want me to give you a beating?"

"Last time, I won the fight with a powerful Jiu-Jitsu lock. Do you really want to fight here?" Dash had been resting, so he couldn't train much. His pastime was making Devon angry so that she would train with much more emotion in her attacks.

"You two have a very strange way of getting along; you won't last long married if you keep this up," Mr. Han shook his head as he walked away to continue working in the small places of the venue.

"What did that old man say?" Devon looked at Dash, who had fallen silent.

"I really didn't understand him; he asked me what he said..." Dash murmured, avoiding Devon's gaze, who was suspicious of him.

"If you don't tell me, then I'll torture you until you talk!" Devon, who was envisioning Dash's teasing, couldn't take it anymore and ran towards him.

By the time Dash looked at Devon, he opened his eyes wide when she fell on him like a meteorite. Straddling Dash, she began pressing him to the ground and asked, "Can I take advantage of the fact that you're injured to give you a good beating? Do you want to keep playing?"

Dash opened his eyes wide and murmured, "He spoke in Chinese; how do you expect me to understand what he said?"

"Oh..." Devon nodded, and just as she was about to move, footsteps were heard outside.

"Mr. Han..."

Devon and Dash looked toward the entrance and saw many boys their age; they all wore regular clothes, and the most surprising thing was that they were the students who had been under Master Li.

Cheng, who entered last, turned his head to where everyone was looking and was surprised to see that the champion of the tournament from a few days ago was being pressed to the ground by a girl in training uniform.

"Cheng, welcome, my friend..." Dash smiled as he waved to the guests.

Devon looked at those Chinese and asked, "What the hell are you looking at? Are you looking for Mr. Han, or do you want to fight with this lady?"

"That..."

"We..."

Cheng nervously looked at Devon and said in better English than Mr. Han's, "We've come to see the master of this Kung Fu school; is he around somewhere?"

"Ah, you've come to enroll." Devon released Dash and stood up, leaving him on the side. "Mr. Han is in that room; you can go look for him."

Dash, who got up with difficulty after being choked by Devon, walked to a vending machine and took out some water bottles while watching the boys enter.

"My effort was worth it..." Dash murmured as he smiled from ear to ear.

"I didn't think they'd come; do you think your friend will take it well?" Devon walked towards Dash and took a water bottle.

"He should take it well; he doesn't hate Cheng, and they ended up fine after the last tournament."

Dash knew that Cheng wasn't a bad guy; he had just made bad decisions, and now that everything was over, it was time for him and Dre to unite.

Watching this whole process as mere spectators, Dash looked away and said, "You've improved a lot in Kung Fu; you're surely the best version of me in female form. Although I would probably beat you if I were a woman, I must admit you're very good."

Devon turned her gaze to Dash and said, "If you're trying to make me feel good, you're not succeeding at all."

Setting the jokes aside, Dash smiled and said sincerely, "You're amazing, Devon. I'm sure that by the time we enter middle school, no girl will be as incredible in fights as you are, rest assured."

"You should have started with that point. Are you going to train, or will you just sit there?"

Devon got up a bit nervous and walked back to the mat to continue training. Dash, on the other hand, stayed seated; he was still injured, so he couldn't train.

...

"Mr. Han, accept us as your students," Cheng said as he bowed to Mr. Han, and the other boys behind him did the same.

Mr. Han, who had just fixed a problem with the light, looked at the boys who appeared out of nowhere and remained silent.

"We want to learn true Kung Fu; be our mentor, please."

Mr. Han, seeing Cheng's earnest gaze, smiled after a while and said, "Alright, let's sit down."

For Mr. Han, these kids were not to blame for being the way they were because they had a very evil master. The only way not to continue letting this happen was to teach them properly, and now that he had the opportunity, he didn't plan to reject them.

Dre, when he learned that Cheng would be in Mr. Han's Kung Fu school, first thought about it. Still, after knowing that he should at least strive for a change, he was the first to step forward.

Dash didn't have the opportunity to exchange blows with Cheng due to his injuries, but they both agreed to meet in some competitions, eventually leading to a face-off.
