"Come on, Mr. Kim, show that powerful kick to that madman!" Dash shouted excitedly as he watched Mr. Han move with skill and agility.
Devon rolled her eyes and muttered, "He can't hear you, and besides, regardless of the context of the fight, it would be unfair to have a two-against-one situation."
"Yes, but that would make it more exciting; it would show that at Sakura Bushido, we're more than just family. It's a shame we didn't have flyers; we would make our Kung Fu school famous here."
Dash smiled disappointedly; he knew not everything could be perfect, but he didn't mind. Today was a wonderful day, and watching that fight between Master Li and Master Han was incredible.
The outstanding skills of Mr. Han preceded him; he could move from side to side, dodging blows and dominating the fight without even using force as a response.
"It seems to be over..." Devon sighed in relief. It wasn't pleasant to see one teacher fight against another; it seemed somewhat disrespectful. But she had seen that Mr. Han had taken the initiative not to exert force, so after defeating Master Li for the second time, the fight stopped.
"Hey, Cheng!" Dash on the side shouted to Master Li's students, and when he looked, Dash said, "Mr. Han might start teaching Kung Fu; you should come since it'll be one of the best schools."
Cheng nodded and withdrew after bowing to Mr. Han as a sign of respect. At least, they had learned something very important today that would help them for the rest of their lives.
"So, will the final continue?" Devon looked at Dash and asked after he remained silent.
"I don't know if Dre can; I'm afraid that if he takes a step forward and fights, he'll be lame for life."
"Dash, come now!"
Mr. Kim's voice sounded very serious, but just as he was about to take a break before the final fight, Dre looked at Mr. Han and said, "I want to surrender, Mr. Han. I can't keep fighting with my leg like this, and even less against Dash; he would crush me."
"Are you sure?"
Dre nodded and said, "Originally, I wanted to resolve issues with those guys, and now that I achieved a victory, it doesn't mean much. I'll try again next year."
Mr. Han nodded and walked toward the tournament administrators to inform them of this decision without making people wait any longer.
On the other side of the platform, Dash sighed with a bitter feeling and said, "Why do I feel like this isn't a victory?"
"This is a victory; why not see it and feel it like that?"
Dash looked at Devon and raised his arms, expressing that he didn't understand. To be honest, this was what he expected after Dre won the fight. He didn't know what position to take when fighting a friend who was injured, and this is the best result, but he didn't feel it as a great victory, which is what it was.
"I don't know; I just feel that way..." Dash muttered as he walked alongside Mr. Kim, who had climbed onto the platform.
"Who else wasn't excited about that fight? The whole event has been incredible, but unfortunately, due to injuries, competitor Dre Parker withdraws, leaving Dash Hale as the winner. Please give a big applause to the new dragon warrior."
Dash's eyes flashed with a happy yet empty feeling, but he still bowed and received the trophy, which was enormous. Many other things would be handled by Mr. Kim, so Dash descended with Devon and gave her a hug.
"Congratulations, Dash, those were incredible fights!"
"It seems the event ends after this, am I wrong?"
Dash looked at Mr. Kim, who was talking to some people, and said, "Maybe. Are we leaving?"
"Aren't you going to say goodbye?" Devon, who was holding Dash's trophy, asked as she walked toward the exit.
"We'll talk later; we're not leaving yet, and he seems to have a special meeting with his little girlfriend."
Devon, who heard this, nodded and walked toward the exit while looking at the large trophy in her hands.
"Your victories are my victories..." Devon smiled, remembering that phrase, and to be honest, now she felt that she had won.
