Chapter 44 - Finalists

"Samantha LaRusso, that was brilliant!"

As Sam returned to her father after winning a hard-fought battle that left her with a leg injury, many of her supporters exclaimed with excitement, wondering if her father's story would repeat itself in his daughter.

"You did really well, daughter. You have time to recover and see if you can continue," Daniel supported his daughter and brought some ice to try to ease the pain in Sam's leg, which had received several kicks.

Now that she had reached the final, Daniel hoped that his daughter wouldn't give up easily, just as he did back then before winning for the first time.

"I'm not giving up; I want to know if Lee is better than me or not. At least I want to try," Sam was happy to have won the fight, but for some reason, she believed she could win and wanted to prove it.

She never thought she would participate in a karate tournament, but when she heard that the competition was open to women as well, she decided to give it a try after her parents agreed to let her fight in the tournament.

She initially prepared herself enough because she wanted to defend herself from those who might cause trouble for them. She never thought that the same training would help her reach the final of a tournament her father had won a long time ago.

After Sam's duel ended, the competition was about to continue with the final of the men's division, and that would only happen if Dash continued in the competition or decided not to continue.

The last four fights of the semifinal were incredible, and all were very notable for the techniques they had mastered throughout their training. In fact, many people believed that effort was not enough for this discipline when children younger than others had won.

After the semifinal ended, as predicted, Dash might not continue fighting when only Marcus was in the arena ready to fight.

"Witnessing the events a moment ago, both you and I wondered if Dash Hale would continue participating in the tournament. It is true that the wound on his face seemed serious, but as long as the decision is approved by the doctors, there is nothing we, as spectators, can do."

As the presenter said this, just at the moment when a timer was about to be set to announce Dash's disqualification, he entered with his team, and when everyone saw him, the audience erupted in cheers.

"That boy must be sick! How does he have the balls to participate after almost having his brain knocked out?"

"Were you more drunk than you can handle, old man?! It's obvious that those blows did nothing to him; he crushed his opponent even when he was attacked by surprise."

The presenter, seeing the excitement of the audience and knowing that the battle would continue as planned, smiled excitedly and shouted, "All right, let the fight begin!"

In his seat, Frederick maintained a discreet smile as he watched his son stand bravely in front of his opponent with no intention of leaving the fight because of a little blood.

Elena beside him said, "Our son is much crazier about fights than you; it was a blessing that you no longer fight."

"Sometimes I wish I could, if you hadn't stopped me, I would have crushed that man named Sensei who ordered that Latin boy to attack our son."

Elena smiled and said, "You know there are better ways to destroy a person; patience is winning with flavor."

"You're right..."

...

"Dash, be careful!" Devon next to him looked at her friend seriously and wished him luck.

"Don't worry; I'll win, and in the meantime, you must rest to fight in your best condition." Dash, after saying this, climbed into the arena and looked at his opponent with complete seriousness.

"He's here!" Marcus said very excitedly, looking at the wound that Antoni had caused him and smiled slightly.

"It seems like you thought you would win without fighting, but to your surprise, that won't be the case, and before you lift your dream prize, you must beat me!" Dash said, using a more defensive fighting stance to avoid being hit in his open wound.

The referee looked at the competitors and nodded, extending his hands straight up and said, "Look at me, Bow."

"Look at each other, Bow!"

Dash and Marcus greeted each other; then the referee started the match.

"Fighting!"
