William laid onto his bed. From the other side of the room, the monotonous clanging of weights resounded. William couldn't sleep, no matter what he tried, so with little hope he got up and left the room. At night the halls of the dorm are almost always empty, just some loitering students caught up in studying, and others doing late night martial arts training. To exit the men's dorms one must pass the student support desk manned by a teacher assistant, or other available staff at the time. Willam passed Nix a captain rank simi mage, well exiting the building. Nix is the kind of guy who just can't give a damn about anything. In some ways it's reshoring, in others it's flat out annoying.
Willam glanced dreamily at the moon, wondering if his father was doing the same. He didn't know where his feet would take him, but he just felt like a walk. William began to think of all that's happened in such a short time. If anyone told him he would be doing this even months before he would have thought them insane. But now, he didn't have much, at least he had a friend, multiple friends. One wouldn't say they stuck to him like glue, however they grew on him. In the brief time William was at the school many people were drawn to him. He befriended some upperclassmen, and became the crush of many foolish students, not that he knew any of this.
Before William knew it he crossed half the campus ending at the arena. From within he could hear grunting, and stubborn muttering. Curious, he invited himself in. The halls are cold as ice, and the air is thick with annoyance. William walked past the precipice of the hall entering the arena as a whole. Leo with a sponge in hand is slowly painstakingly washing a giant basilisk. The narrow eyed beast almost seemed to be enjoying it.
"Fucking bastard." Leo murmured. "I Knew I should have ran away, damn it. At least you like me Nicholas." The basilisk wagged its massive tail.
William didn't feel like bugging him, so he took a seat next to the door.
Leo tapped his foot going into a half ununderstandable muttering of a song. It didn't take long for the basilisk to notice William, and when it did it eyed him fiercely. This scene continued till Leo finished wiping Nicholas down.
"You're all good." He told him.
Leo grabbed a sword he had laid next to his feet, and nonchalantly locked the basilisk up, before finally and without splendor spotted William.
"Hay Master." William called out.
"Will? Did you need something?" Leo asked.
"Not really, just can't sleep is all."
Leo took a seat next to him.
"I know this is out of the blue, but Saints Hand wants us to pick a representative from each class. Would you be up to it?"
"What is this for?"
"Good question, one I would like to know myself." Leo grumbled.
"I'm fine with it, I suppose."
"Good. Now how has your training been going?"
"I…" William scratched the back of his head. " Am very close to a breakthrough, I think I'll move up to captain before the end of the year." This scared Leo, he was about to be matched in rank by someone almost half his age.
