Chapter 91 - Pheap

Wolf frantically paced back and forth. He knew he could be fighting, he also knew how little help he would be to the front line. Wisp creepily hugged him.

"It will be alright, father said reinforcements are almost here."

Wolf stood there in silence. He wouldn't say he was afraid. However he was scared that he would die without getting revenge. Revenge, Wolf said the word so many times it lost all meaning. He always wanted to do the right thing, to be the hero. It was a child personification he stuck to to get through the hard times. But now it just felt like loose noodles rolling through his head. He never found it so hard to find any semblance of meaning, any path. For a bit he was alone but he had killing, then he found Jewy, his guiding torch. Someone who he could always trust to never lead him a stray. But now what. An insane girl, who is too clingy for her own good, a war that is simply not worth fighting for, perhaps some fantasy of meeting Jewy again. His thoughts were broken with a shout.

"Wolf?!! What happened?" Pheap questioned.

Wolf turns around to see Pheap standing next to Hans. A grasp of hope, some string to guide him, a friend.

"Pheap, I almost forgot about you. Long story, but how about me and you work together and take down one of the angels over there."

"Sher thing, but where is Lynx?"

"Dead, you missed a lot. As we are the last of the group here, let's work together."

"Oh, brown gold then. Yeah lets do this, I don't want to die I have a girl to get back to. Speaking of witch, why is the wisp sucking up to you?"

"Another long story."

"Is that so?"

"Let me join you guys." Hans hit Pheap on the shoulder. "Mabey I can find some of my men."

"If they're joining, you're not leaving me behind." Wisp bagged.

Pheap somehow eager for a fight marched forward like a mountain, slow and intimidating. The rest followed behind. The danger of the battle was massive, so the group moved to one of the flanks, and chose an obvious weaker monster.

"Where did you guys come from?" Jack stepped out in front of them. His gang of losers in tow. "We already chose that one. It's not everyday someone can make this much cash.''

"Get out of the way." Pheap commanded.

"What did you say to me?"

But Pheap didn't give him another word, only pushing Jack out of the way.

"How dare you lay your hands on me." Jack drew his weapon, but Hans stepped in between them with a glare that could scare the poison out of a hydra. Jack backed off. "Sorry."

The monster was a gray unicorn, a physically weak beast with strong spells. Their hone is often sold to mages as it increases the strength of their magic. Most would consider a unicorn a relatively easy kill.
