Chereads / Devil's Downfall / Chapter 15 - Alexander.

Chapter 15 - Alexander.

In the corner of the room. William glared at Alexander.

"Okay, then I choose you Teach, as my sparring partner"

"Is this brat mad, how dare he challenge Master like that. It's not like Master has any reason to accept, what a fool." William thought.

"Fine." Leo responded.

Alexander was a prodigy. Ever since he was young he was destined for greatness. Even William's grampa praised him, he said "if my no good son was half as talented as Alexander he would have reached the tier of king by now." The one thing William's grampa complained about is Alexander's lack of motivation. Rumor has it that all that so-called tallent disappeared within just a moment, he hit his head or something, ever since he was average. However his attitude never changed, Alexander's cocky voice seemed to want to bring back his former glory.

"So Teach, weapons or are we just using fists?" Alexander asked.

"You're free to use what you want." His voice shook for just a moment, it was undoubtedly unnoticed by the group, but it caught William off guard.

The whole room cleared an opening for their sparring match, eyes tracked their movements, the room fell silent.

Thud. Leo slammed his foot into the ground, entering his near perfect stance, all eyes viewed in interest, but even more stared at Alexander. If you blinked you would have missed it the moment Leo entered his stance a spear appeared in Alexander's hands like it was always there, in not even a millisecond the magically enhanced spear appeared beside Leo's head stopping just before impact.

"You ready?" He cockly asked.

Leo glared at him, his head tilted in a half hearted dodge. The audience knew that if Alexander tried to, Leo would be dead.

Although still visible, with an excellent display of mastery, Leo grabbed Alexander's wrist and executed a perfect shoulder throw. Alexander lost his footing slamming his back into the ground with a thud. In that moment Alexander looked beyond Leo into some deep empty void, then back to him with an even nastier glare.

"Who said we didn't begin?" Leo taunted.

Alexander crawled to his feet, ever eyeing at the man who tormented him. He recalled the spear he dropped in the chaos. This was Alexander's opportunity to show he hasn't declined, this was his chance to show that he was still better than everyone.

Five years prior.

In a distant manor.

Alexander always found it too easy. In chess he beat some of the top one hundred grandmasters, in sports most adults couldn't even compare, and worst of all is martial arts, no one, not one his age could match him, at least that's how it felt. Alexander's father is Sir Timmy Vector Higs, a famous knight who was given a chunk of land by the emperor of Japan. His father loved his wife and used to visit all the time, and when he did he would flaunt around Alexander as a genius. Alexander adored his father, he was what he wished to become. However, one day Alexander found himself bored, and decided to tame a wild horse that his father kept around in his pastor. Timmy called it his lucky stallion, a fine horse with a proud and unwavering personality.

Alexander fell from the horse, he lost his balance for one second. He thought at that moment if this was a fight he would be dead. Within that short span of time the horse's hoof collided into Alexander's face. His mother rushed in to protect him. Maybe she did, maybe he would have died. But she was hit multiple times in the head, and has been in a coma ever since. Alexander in turn lost all his talent. His father never visited again after he found out.
