Night was swiftly approaching. Instead of continuing on with his journey, the oasis was the perfect spot to rest throughout the night. Krez didn't have night vision, and being sneak attacked by a beast wasn't his goal. The cool water and fruit made the oasis very attractive. Krez was surprised by the absence of beasts, but he would continue his journey in the morning, so it didn't concern him.
Krez found a nice palm tree just a bit away from the water. It had a slant that would be perfect to rest against. He wasn't in a protected area and refused to fall into a deep sleep. Krez would keep his armor on and warhammer by his side, keeping his senses tuned high. Krez had become adept at detecting danger even in his sleep. Skipping sleep might offer short-term safety, but Krez knew it was a non-negotiable. He understood that lack of sleep could cause concentration to waver, and one lapse of focus could prove deadly in battle.
Krez nestled against the sturdy palm tree, entering a state of light sleep. In the quiet of the night, a mesmerizing transformation unfolded at the oasis. The full moon, with its ethereal brilliance, bathed the water in a luminous glow, casting enchanting reflections across the surface.
Simultaneously, strong Qi fluctuations infused the air. This mystical phenomenon, was detected by Krez's newfound Qi awareness, it promptly stirred him from his sleep. If it was just one day earlier, krez would not have even know this was happening.
The heightened Qi in the air piqued Krez's curiosity, compelling him to explore the oasis more intently. As he strolled around, the atmosphere pulsated with with Qi. The Qi intensity noticeably exceeding the levels from earlier in the day by at least 3 times. Following his senses, Krez found himself drawn toward the clear pool at the oasis's center, where the Qi seemed most concentrated.
Krez had scanned the water multiple times, attempting to discern any changes, but nothing stood out. Just as he contemplated leaving, a glint at the pool's bottom caught his keen eye, compelling him to investigate.
Before immersing himself in the water, Krez cautiously checked its temperature and safety with his pinky. "Uggh, chilly. This isn't gonna be fun," he muttered to himself.
Krez decided to remove the arm guards and boots that were part of his armor before getting into the water. Despite not sensing any dangers, the plate metal components would hinder his agility while swimming. He preferred to remain agile in case anything unexpected happened.
Krez psyched himself up for the chilly water, knowing that his body cultivation hadn't granted him resistance to temperatures yet. After beating his chest a couple of times, he leapt forward with a splash, entering the cold waters. Shivering, he swam down towards the glint he had noticed. The water temperature started to dropped as he descended. Krez started to feel a drain on his stamina, making it more challenging to swim as the cold saped his energy.
After a grueling swim, Krez reached the spot where the glint had caught his eye. His stamina was nearly depleted, that would make the swim back up challenging. At the bottom, he found a crystal —a foot tall pyramid with mysterious markings. Despite its allure, Krez sensed both danger and opportunity. His instincts urged him forward, he reached his hand out and touched the crystal pyramid.
The space around him twisted as he felt the familiar sensation of being teleported. It felt just like his 1st time teleporting when he was sent to this new life. He realized that this mysterious pyramid was transporting him somewhere unknown.
Krez found himself in a vast green field, weapons protruding from the ground, all covered in rust. Swords, polearms, spears, blades – a graveyard of weaponry that spoke of a violent past. weathered by the relentless passage of time. The silent field told the tale of a long-forgotten battlefield, and in the center a huge stone pyramid it was a memorial.
Krez stood before the massive pyramid, and as he approached, words illuminated on the memorial. He read them aloud.
"The Lunar Berserk, a legendary figure displayed unparalleled devotion during the devastating Great Demonic War. His sacrifice went beyond the ordinary, transcending mortal limits.
In a selfless act, he offered his own body as the cornerstone to create the Eternal Moon Prison. Eternal moon prison a monumental structure that incarcerated the remnants of demonic forces, including their formidable leader, the true Demonic God. This marked the end of the Great Demonic War and granted Nevria a new moon."
Krez looked up at the bright sky, and even in broad daylight, he could still see the moon. Krez had always found it amusing that the moon was full every time he saw it, a phenomenon he noticed only a few days into his new life. Now he understood the truth – the moon was essentially a massive prison. Its glow resulted from the sun's light reflecting off of it, combined with the lunar god's power keeping it illuminated.
Krez walked closer to the pyramid, and as he approached, he noticed a handprint etched into the wall. He read the words next to the hand. The inscription simply stated, "Welcome to the Lunar Berserk Inheritance Trial." Bewilderment filled Krez. How could his luck be so heaven-defying? Normally, he would have thought it through before activating the trial, but Krez had a feeling that completing the trial was the only way to leave this old battlefield.
Krez reached his hand out and placed it on the handprint. As soon as he did, a majestic voice rang out.
" Starting trial of treasures.....
Treasures have been stolen trial can't start."
The voice rangout again.
"Staring trial of body cultivation...
Inheritance rewards lost trial can't start."
Krez's face drops, and he thinks, "My luck cannot be this bad. I found a god-level inheritance, but two trials can't even be started."
The voice rang out a third time.
"Staring trial of soul cultivation...
Insufficient energy reserves trial can't start.
All trials complete, congratulations legacy holder please uphold the legacy of the lunar berserk."
Krez stood there with a dumbfounded look on his face, unable to comprehend what just happened.
