Chapter 8 - Training schedule

Alright, after a long conversation we finally figured out what training would be best for each person.

And simultaneously we assigned everyone's roles as well.

And I must say, I don't know if I agree.

They want to turn me into a close combatant while also making me help in the scouting (which is Fred's area due to his stealth).

Of course, this makes sense as I am very dangerous close range where I can just whisper something and thereby defeat my enemy.

And scouting also makes sense because I let told them I have very accurate instincts because of my 'strengthened soul' (I decided against telling me about my hightened intuition due to knowing secrets because that is what my intuition told me to do, but I still felt like it was necessary to make it known I have a strong point there).

But, for some reason they decided against assasination training for both me and Fred.

'It's an evil practice and we are heroes' is what Kent said.

Bullshit!

We are litteraly an elite killing group in the making, why not incorporate assasination into that group!

It's idiotic!

And thankfully, Fred agrees with me.

So, we are planning to ask our close combat coach to give us tips on assasination, because Fred and I both follow close combat training.

But let's sum up my training schedule, because close combat and a bit of scouting is not everything. Actually, it's only 50% of my scheduled training.

Because I pushed for something, that I feel like could be very important.

Mage training.

And the reason I pushed for this? I am not a mage after all...

Apparently, magic in this world is based of understanding of principles related to elements.

And too advanced information can be too much for a mage of a lower level to handle.

It can corrupt their soul, killing them or making them want for more of these truths.

The same as my ability.

And since it is so clearly connected, I just have to know more about it. Besides, mages need to advance their souls too so insights on that are also welcome.

So my schedule is: Every morning before the first lesson strenght and stamina training. Every evening after the last lesson meditation to advance my soul. From 16:00 to 19:00 there are general lessons on how the soul and body advance and a general overview of this world (meaning propaganda probably) and from 10:00 to 14:00 the training of our choosing.

For me that is the following.

Monday: Close combat training

Tuesday: Scouting

Wednesday: Close combat training

Thursday: Mage training

Friday: Mage training

Saturday: Mage training

Sunday: Nothing

On Sundays we have not 10 to 14 training. Then we can do what we want: spar, explore the city, talk. Whatever we want to do.

I really hope I can keep my discipline this time. On the one hand I am very interested in the information that we could be getting. On the other hand, this was also the case with my biology study.

And I didnt have discipline then.

Well, at least the meditation and physical training like close combat should be no problem.

After figuring all of that out, it was time for an introduction class.

...

The introduction class was not very interesting.

Just general information about normal conducts in this world, and a general overview obout the kingdom we are at war with.

Apparently they are well versed in potions and poisons.

But other than that it was really not that interesting...

Or maybe it seems that way to me because I didn't manage to pay close attention.

I really tried though!

But sometimes, when I thought I was paying attention, I just realized that I didn't pick up anything that was being said in the last 5 minutes!

Anyway, I already thought this would happen and it really does not matter that much if I have a below average knowledge about this world right now.

I'm not going to be the leader after all.

And my part in the scouting is not based on knowledge but on my intuition.

So I'll just pick up this type of slightly relevant information later on and focus on becoming as strong as possible first.

Since it is still the first day, this was everything for classes today.

So after some physical training and a clumsy attempt at meditation (I kept getting distracted by my own thoughts) we decided to head back to the dorms and chill a bit.

So now I'm in my bed thinking about everything.

On my own.

Because Lisa and Kent are walking around again.

'Let's see if the guys next door are busy, maybe we can talk and bond a bit.'

And so I opened the door of my room, only to be unpleasantly surprised.
