Chapter 23 - Oops... (3)

However, this time, when someone called out Matthew's name, he chose to ignore it and leaned in to kiss Margaret's lips tenderly.

Muah~

Margaret's eyes instantly sparkled with delight like crescent moons, and she eagerly wrapped her arms around him, pulling him closer as their bodies pressed together.

"Humnhh❤!"

Their kisses grew more intense, each one deeper and more passionate than the last.

Matthew's lips explored hers hungrily, sucking and tasting her lower lip before probing his tongue into her mouth.

"Ahhh~"

With a soft moan, Margaret melted into his embrace, her hands roaming over his back.

Churup, chuuu~

Her breath hitched as Matthew deepened the kiss, his tongue intertwining with hers deeply.

"Humnpf❤"!

Margaret's eyelashes fluttered as they continued to kiss, lost in the heat of the moment.

Their breaths mingled, hot and heavy, as they indulged in the intoxicating sensation of each other's lips.

Churu❤—!

"MATTHEW! What the FUCK are you doing!?" A hand pulled Matthew away from the kiss, throwing him further away from Margaret.

Step, step!

Being thrown into the air, Matthew gracefully landed on his feet as he saw the face of the person who had tried to cock-block him and ended up still doing it.

He glared at the person in question, brushing back his hair with his hand. "What am I doing? Is that your fucking business, Stacy?"

"Of course it is! The woman you were kissing is called Margaret Rose, and she's a Special Class Super Villain!" She loudly exclaimed.

"E-eh? S-Super Villain?"

When Matthew heard her words, his eyes widened, and his mouth dropped open in shock.

He glanced at Margaret, who waved her hand in front of him, then put her finger to her lips, winked, and vanished, trailing smoke in her wake.

"I'll come back, Matthew~❤!" Her voice resounded throughout the whole ballroom.

Everyone's gaze was entirely on Matthew's figure at this single moment.

"..."

Matthew's gaze shifted to Stacy as he voiced his surprise, "I had no idea she was a Super Villain..."

Stacy let out a sigh, her brows knitting together.

"And why hasn't Lilian taken any action against her?" Matthew wondered aloud.

"That's..." Stacy hesitated for a moment, contemplating his question.

However, it quickly became clear as Lilian stepped forward to clarify, "Margaret Rose is a Special Class Super Villain, one of the strongest Super Villains in the world. She holds the Special Class designation because even the top-ranked hero wouldn't be able to handle her alone; it would require a group of heroes."

"You really need to learn more about the world, Matthew," Lilian sighed, continuing, "especially about the appearances of Super Villains."

"..."

"You really... I'm at a loss for words. Kissing one of the most dangerous Super Villains... I can't decide if you're bold or just plain foolish," Stella interjected abruptly, appearing out of nowhere.

"..."

"And to top it off, Margaret must know about your evil-related Class by now. That's probably why she approached you. But did you seriously think it was a good idea to cozy up to her?" Stella continued, her tone incredulous.

"...."

'...What's the part she doesn't understand that I didn't know that Margaret was a Super Villain?'

"Whatever... The event's about to start, so finish your drink at least," Stella warned before walking away.

Both Lilian and Stacy sighed, following Stella's lead and leaving Matthew alone.

Sip...

As Matthew took a sip of his drink, he stared blankly at the screen that had suddenly appeared in front of him.

⋘ The Goddess of Earth says, "Well, at least you have good taste in women." ⋙

'Why are you popping up now?'

⋘ The Goddess of Earth replies with a wry smile, "I just happened to be visiting you now, but I didn't expect you to be so... fierce~" ⋙

"..."

⋘ The Goddess of Earth giggles at your reaction. ⋙

'What do you want?'

⋘ The Goddess of Earth replied, "I just wanted to check up on you and let you know that the system has been upgraded. I've used a bit of my power to integrate a special sub-system." ⋙

'Huh? You control the system too?'

⋘ The Goddess of Earth raised her eyebrows, "Didn't the Goddess of Night tell you that we both control the system? Anyway, I don't have much time. The sub-system is automatic, and a new panel will appear when something related to that sub-system's conditions happens; it will help you a lot, especially in dangerous situations that you can't prevent. That's it~! I'm off now, buh-bye~!" ⋙

'W-wait!'

'...Fuck... both of them did the same thing.' Matthew sighed inwardly, taking another sip of his drink as he scratched his eyebrow in annoyance.

"Thanks," Matthew said to the bartender before rising from his seat and making his way through the bustling crowd.

Once he reached the center, he spotted a stage where Stella and Lilian stood together.

'Hell no...!' Matthew exclaimed inwardly as he saw Stella pressing herself against Lilian.

Slowly but surely, he maneuvered his way out of the ballroom, hoping to catch a breath of fresh air.

Surprisingly, no one stopped him this time. Usually, one of the girls would be on him like an alarm clock if he did something "wrong."

"Ahh, this feels good~" Matthew sighed contentedly as the gentle breeze brushed against his face on the balcony.

His hair swayed as he closed his eyes, basking in the sensation.

'Now... I need to figure out what to do,' Matthew thought, his eyes snapping open.

He had a few ideas right now, one of which was entering a dungeon to accelerate his advancement.

Another option was to simply go to the mountains, where there is a barrage of monsters, each stronger than the next as one climbs the mountains.

Finally, there was the chance to remain near Stacy in the hopes that the "airborne luck" would cause the system to trigger at random.

But Matthew was more interested in finding out if he had a personal "air luck" that would set off the system.

He was unaware of the possibility that one of his decisions would really trigger the system.

Because of that, Matthew was a bit more into staying close to Stacy to get more chances of the system triggering.

"Ahh... what should I do?" He sighed...
