"Imagine! If I awaken the Mokuton, the Hokage position will be mine," exclaimed Nawaki, his eyes shining with ambition, oblivious to the gloomy atmosphere surrounding them.
An eyebrow arched on Chen's face. "Who told you that Mokuton is the Kekkei Genkai of the Senju?"
Confusion was drawn on Nawaki's face. "Everyone knows that, don't they?"
"Not exactly," Chen replied. "In your clan's entire history, only the First Hokage awakened the Mokuton. The true Kekkei Genkai of the Senju is the same as the Uzumaki's: a Sage Body."
Shikaku narrowed his eyes. "How do you know that, Chen?"
"Research," was the simple answer. "The Mokuton is unique to the First Hokage, not the entire clan. That doesn't mean you can't awaken it, Nawaki, but it's extremely rare."
Chen didn't discover this by watching the anime, he discovered it through research.
While Chen and the others were talking, Kushina had already dealt with the other ninja. "Chen! Did you see that? I was incredible!"
"They were just two Chūnin," Chen replied, shrugging.
Kushina's cheeks puffed up with indignation. "Idiot! You don't know how to compliment someone."
A playful smile appeared on Chen's lips. "You want compliments? Alright. Kushina, you're so strong that Madara trembles before you. Kaguya flees at the sight of you. Even the Sage of Six Paths bows to your power."
Although Kushina doesn't know who Madara and Kaguya are, thanks to Chen, she knows who the Sage of Six Paths is.
Kushina blinked, although she doesn't know who Madara and Kaguya are, thanks to Chen, she knows who the Sage of Six Paths is.
"Come on, Chen!" exclaimed Nawaki. "The Sage of Six Paths? That's a lie."
An enigmatic smile appeared on Chen's face. "Who knows? Maybe one day he'll appear and I'll have to prove what I'm saying."
"It's just a legend," replied Nawaki, rolling his eyes.
"As long as you don't die, maybe you'll see," Chen murmured, patting Nawaki on the shoulder. Then, turning to Kenji, he asked: "Aren't you nervous?"
Kenji hesitated under Chen's penetrating gaze. "W-Why should I be? That's why I hired you, right?"
"I hope so," Chen replied, his tone loaded with hidden meaning. He was sure that Kenji had connections with Danzo.
"Watch your tone, brat," Kenji snapped. "I'm your client. I can complain in Konoha, you know?"
The look Chen gave him was so cold that Kenji felt as if he had fallen into an ice well. When Chen finally looked away, Kenji let out a sigh of relief, carefully avoiding looking at the young man.
After half a day of travel, the group finally arrived at the outskirts of Amegakure. The smell of putrefaction invaded their senses, causing grimaces of disgust in everyone.
"Amegakure," Chen murmured with feigned excitement, "a cursed country that cries every day."
Kushina, knowing Chen well, pursed her lips.
"It's depressing," whispered Mikoto. "Everyone seems... dead inside."
Observing the panorama. "It's a battlefield," he thought. "Now I understand Hanzo. Anyone in this situation would counterattack."
Amegakure, a small country faced with three powers, had managed to survive. It was a remarkable achievement in itself.
"Hey, lovebirds! Move your butts!" Nawaki's voice cut through their moment. "This damn weather is driving me crazy."
After five exhausting days of evasion and stealth, they had finally completed the mission. However, the satisfaction of a job well done was marred by Kenji's attitude.
"Can you believe it?!" Kushina was boiling with rage. "We worked hard to bring him back, and he won't even let us in?"
Chen sketched an enigmatic smile. "That's how the rich are. But don't worry, I have a plan."
The group took refuge in a nearby hotel. The room was small, forcing Chen, Mikoto, and Kushina to share space.
"We should have robbed him when we had the chance!" Kushina was still brooding, her face contorted in a grimace of disgust as she remembered Kenji's face.
"Patience," Chen murmured. "I left a clone following him. We'll have news soon."
Half an hour later, a shadow clone appeared in the room. It handed a scroll to Chen and vanished in a puff of smoke.
Kushina and Mikoto pounced on Chen, curiosity shining in their eyes.
"How much did we get?" Kushina asked, practically vibrating with excitement.
Chen unrolled the scroll with studied calm. His eyes widened slightly. "More than 10 billion Ryō," he announced.
"Ten billion?!" Kushina seemed stunned, unable to process the figure. Even Mikoto let out a small gasp of surprise.
"Fortunately, Kenji kept his money at home," Chen explained. "If it had been in a bank, it would have been more complicated."
What he didn't mention was that his clone had also eliminated Kenji and burned down his mansion. A perfect murder and arson, with no loose ends.
