The Kyubi's strength was impressive. After playing with it for a while, Chen still couldn't completely subdue it. Undoubtedly, the beast's reputation as the most powerful was not in vain.
The display of brute force by the Kyubi was impressive. Even Madara would have found it difficult without his Mangekyo Sharingan.
Madara's ability to control the Kyubi like a simple domestic animal was entirely due to the power of his eyes. Without that crucial advantage, even a shinobi of his caliber would have sweated blood to subdue the beast.
Of course, this applied to Madara prior to acquiring the Rinnegan. With that Dōjutsu, he would have been absolute and unquestionable.
Although the Tenseigan is on a completely different scale from the Eternal Mangekyo in many aspects, it lacked the specific ability to subjugate tailed beasts.
Chen couldn't simply impose his will on the Kyubi; if it had been possible, he would have done so from the start of the combat.
The Tenseigan's ability to manipulate puppets was equally useless. Moreover, Chen wanted to keep the true capabilities of his eyes secret, so he was forced to rely solely on the Susanoo in this battle.
In the future, he planned to freely use the abilities of the Tenseigan and the Pika Pika no Mi. For now, discretion was crucial to avoid exposing his identity and, incidentally, he could blame the Uchiha.
The idea of becoming a renegade ninja had never crossed his mind. Konoha enjoyed relative peace, and he saw no use in abandoning that stability.
Thus, Chen limited himself to using the Susanoo, whose ability to change color and shape, although useful for deception, paled in comparison to Uchiha Itachi's Susanoo, armed with the sacred Sword of Totsuka and the impregnable Yata Mirror.
...
Kurama's stubbornness was annoying. Chen knew he had to end the battle quickly to prevent the Kyubi from depleting all his Chakra.
"Susanoo: Gravity Sword!" Chen's voice resonated on the battlefield.
The Susanoo wielded its sword with force and simultaneously, a gravitational force within the radius of the Susanoo's body, attracting Kurama towards it.
The distance between the battlefield and Konoha played in Chen's favor. No eye, however acute, could discern the subtle use of the Tenseigan at such a distance. Any observer would attribute the phenomenon to an unknown ability of the Susanoo.
Kurama, surprised by the sudden attraction, dug his claws into the shattered ground, leaving deep furrows in the earth. His tails whipped furiously, trying to counteract the force pulling him.
But as the gravitational force increased, he couldn't hold on any longer and went flying...
There was no blood or flesh. The cut part of the Kyubi dissipated in the air like a cloud of pure energy, illuminating the battlefield with a golden glow.
Chen extended his hand, and the released chakra began to flow towards him like a river of light.
"Just a quarter...? It's not enough," Chen's voice resonated from the Susanoo, laden with ambition.
The Kyubi, wounded but not defeated, stood on its hind legs and roared at him.
But he wasn't given time to recover.
The Susanoo advanced and as soon as it was close, its hand closed around Kurama's muzzle, silencing his roar and forcing him to the ground.
This shake left him stunned, momentarily dazed. Chen seized the opportunity. A green sphere, similar to a Rasengan but of a bright emerald color, appeared in the free hand of the Susanoo.
As soon as the sphere appeared, it began to absorb Kurama's chakra at an alarming rate.
The beast's body visibly shrank, its height reducing from 50 to 30 meters in a matter of seconds.
Kurama fought with all his might to escape, his claws scratching uselessly at the Susanoo. His eyes full of fury, now showed a glimpse of fear.
Satisfied with the amount of chakra obtained, Chen dissipated the green sphere, releasing Kurama who collapsed to the ground in a malnourished state.
From his elevated position, he directed his gaze towards Konoha. The village, miles away, was barely visible on the horizon, its lights flickering weakly in the night.
A magnificent view, but he had to end this.
Observing the Kyubi, now reduced to a size no larger than a house, lying on the ground and panting heavily. He looked like a grumpy puppy.
"Well, little fox, it's been fun," Chen said in a mocking tone. "But it's time for me to go. Although before..."
He leaned down, bringing his giant face close to the exhausted Kurama. The beast growled weakly, trying to bare its fangs, like a dog.
"Come on, don't make that face," Chen laughed. "Think of this as a lesson in humility. Oh, and so you don't forget me..."
With a quick movement, the Susanoo's foot lifted and kicked Kurama in the rear, eliciting a surprised howl that sounded more like a meow, as he went flying through the air.
"Remember me!" Chen shouted. "We'll see each other often, so you better not forget who's in charge here!"
With a thought, the Susanoo began to fade, its colossal form dissolving.
In the last instant before the chakra construct disappeared completely, Chen teleported, leaving behind a devastated battlefield.
_______
On the outskirts of Konoha.
Hiruzen addressed the patriarch of the Hyuga clan, with a tense voice.
"What can you see?"
The Hyuga leader, with the veins around his eyes swollen from using the Byakugan, peered into the distance before responding.
"Only the Kyubi's chakra remains there, Hokage-sama. There are no signs of the mysterious intruder. The beast's chakra... is significantly less than it should be."
Hiruzen frowned, processing the information. After a moment of reflection, he made a decision:
"Forget about the intruder for now. Our priority is to seal the Nine-Tails. It seems the unknown person already obtained what they were looking for and left. We must act before the beast can recover." With a decisive gesture, Hiruzen set off.
The others, overcoming their initial apprehension, followed him without hesitation.
The distance that separated them from the Kyubi, several kilometers, was covered in minutes.
....
Upon arriving where the Kyubi lay, the Konoha ninjas stopped short, astonished at the sight before them.
The Kyubi, terror of the shinobi world, was now a pathetic shadow of its former self.
Its fur, once a vibrant orange, looked dull and discolored. Its body, reduced to almost a third of its original size, seemed emaciated, with ribs visible under the skin. The nine tails looked languid and lifeless.
With eyes full of exhaustion. Its breathing was heavy and laborious, as if each inhalation required a monumental effort.
"What are you looking at?!" roared the Nine-Tails, but his voice sounded like little more than a growl.
'What humiliation,' thought Kurama, shame burning him from within. 'If the others saw me like this... No, I can't allow it.'
In a desperate attempt to maintain his dignity, Kurama tried to stand up. His legs shook violently under his weight, and after a moment of struggle, he collapsed again on the ground, raising a cloud of dust.
The shame on the beast's face was palpable. His eyes, once full of arrogance, now avoided the gaze of the humans surrounding him.
Hiruzen, initially tense and prepared for battle, let out a sigh of relief at the pitiful state of the beast.
With a gesture, he ordered the sealing team to prepare.
"You, miserable humans," Kurama growled, full of humiliation. "Taking advantage of a fox in distress. Wait until I recover, I'll show you the true power of the Nine-Tails."
"Proceed," Hiruzen ordered, ignoring the beast's hollow threats.
The sealing team advanced, forming a circle around Kurama. But even in his weakened state, the Kyubi was not willing to surrender without a fight.
With a roar, a wave of energy expanded from Kurama's body, dispersing the ninjas in charge of the sealing.
Hiruzen frowned. "Contain the Nine-Tails while we prepare the seal," he ordered.
As the ninjas regrouped for a second attempt, Hiruzen couldn't help but feel a guilty relief.
Although the situation was complicated, at least the mysterious intruder hadn't directly attacked Konoha. The consequences of that would have been truly catastrophic.
