Vincent woke up with a start, drenched in sweat despite the chill in the air and the humming air conditioner. His breathing was ragged, and his eyes stared blankly into space. It was just a nightmare. Nothing was real yet it felt so real and the memory of it still lingered, refusing to be shaken off.
Vincent's face contorted in confusion. His mind reeled as he tried to make sense of the nightmare. Why did Ashlyn appear in his dream? It felt strange, And why was the setting so familiar, so unlike the human world but like the world he knew so well?
Since Vincent's time started running out, it became a usual occurrence for him to have nightmares about himself dying and he knew that he was going to die one of those ways but now, why was Ashlyn in his dream? And strangely, why was she the one holding the sword?
