"I still love your mother till now and I wish I hadn't left but I couldn't stay because of you."
Williams's words didn't make any sense to Ashlyn. How could he say he still loved her mother when he abandoned her without looking back? How was she the reason for him to leave her mother when she was nothing but a child at that time? She was a baby when her father started abusing her mother. She only grew up watching the both of them fight any night her father ended up coming home and on the nights he never came home, She watched her mother cry herself to sleep.
"Dad," Ashlyn yelled, "Why did you abandon your child then? Why leave mom because of your child? Why? Do you hate me so much?" She couldn't stop the tears she was holding back from falling. She needed answers and the answers her father was giving her were only confusing her more than she already was.
