"Why?" Despite how simple that question was it always had a complex answer.
Vincent inhaled softly, he removed his hands from her waist, held her shoulder, and turned her around to face him. Vincent looked into her eyes thinking of what to tell her and Ashlyn stared at his eyes waiting for his answers.
He didn't know what to say but just as he opened his mouth to give any excuse that would accept to slip out of his lips, something popped into his head.
"We're only married because of your mother." Vincent began and Ashlyn felt her heart sting. "We shouldn't go more than this because it's not real." He said but in a real sense, it was like he was telling himself more than he was telling her.
Ashlyn felt something needle-like pierce her heart the moment she heard his last words. She had nothing to say and it felt like his words drew out her breath but not in a good way. But why?
