"Do you know the pain I've endured?" Nathan spat, his eyes blazing with anger as he glared at Vincent. He was done retelling his suffering and for a moment, Vincent was transported to a time when his father and Nathan had their history.
"I've lived a life of shame, forced to hide from the world," Nathan continued, his voice trembling with bitterness. "I couldn't even face the woman I loved, and she never once looked for me." The words hung in the air like a challenge, as if Nathan dared Vincent to comprehend the depth of his pain.
Meanwhile, despite listening to Nathan's story, Vincent's mind still raced with thoughts of his own. He was desperate to find a way to save his mother from Nathan's clutches but yet the more he racked his brain, it became more blank.
