Ashlyn's question came as a surprise to Vincent. Her expression wasn't one of curiosity but anxiety and he wondered why.
"Ashlyn,..." He called but she cut in.
"I want to know. You don't want me to fall for you but your actions are saying otherwise. I want to know if I made a mistake in accepting this whole thing." Ashlyn said in a low voice.
Sitting upright, Vincent exhaled deeply and looked at her. "You said we should act like it never happened so do you want my answer?"
Understanding what he meant, Ashlyn decided to ask another similar question. "What about the second time? Why did you kiss me?"
"I was curious." She heard Vincent answer immediately she asked her question. "I was curious if you would also ask us to pretend like it never happened but..."
"But I didn't." She completed his sentence and Vincent nodded. "You should ask yourself why?"
