It's been a month since Kait traveled and days passed by a little bit uneventful for Ashlyn as she spent it mostly on work, hanging out with either Owen, Clara, or her mother, and going out on blind dates set up by her mother. She had canceled her contractual marriage plans with Mark for a simple reason —Her mother.
If she had gone ahead with the plans it was certain that her mother would find out later on and she would be heartbroken. Ashlyn could guess how unhappy her mother would be but despite that, she knew her mother would eventually accept the marriage but on a condition that she would get married and wed properly and that was the more reason she crossed out the idea.
The thought of going into a real marriage was not something that sat well with her and she wasn't going to do it.
