Chapter 8 - Just Random Celebration Things

I was roasting another batch of meat as my team ate happily at the table while having random conversations, as Arthur took a chair and put it beside me as he was chugging a huge mug of beer.

He laughed so loudly as I stood there tired with his antics. "I can't believe you thought that someone rigged a dungeon!" his voice boomed around as he cackled like a mad man. "Damn kid. They have to walk past my corpse before they are able to do that! Such nonsense!"

I didn't even invite him here.

Apparently, he was waiting outside for us when the announcement popped up on his notification bar. He was so happy that he called the old man for drinks, and they were delivered outside my apartment where we are currently at right now.

With the announcement being aired worldwide, we had to celebrate quietly as the news should be a hot topic and the guilds will be looking for all the information from anyone who did a dungeon exploration today. So much for quietness because this loudmouthed man is here.

It was said that the announcement was the top news aside from the new issue between the Saintess and the Paladin. Actually, it buried their issue as they were all trying to figure out the nameless group who cleared the rare dungeon.

Arthur seriously looked at me. "It was a feat as you cleared a closing dungeon with a minute to spare. You managed to clear it within four hours!" he was so happy. I shouldn't tell him that we wasted two hours doing nothing, so technically, it was cleared in less than two hours.

He kept on chatting about the old man as I delivered the third batch of meat to the table and Marcus wasted no time in taking half of the meat to his plate, which cause a ruse between the guys.

"I wanted that!"

"I deserve more!"

"Well, I'm hungry!"

They continued to argue in the background as their voices started to faint as they went to the living room to watch a game.

Freya, on the other hand, was enjoying Claire's princess treatment as the other girl was feeding her with food. "Isn't she cute?"

I sweat dropped, but nodded as I agreed with Claire, for Freya looked cute like a chipmunk as she chewed.

"Kyaaaaah!" my sister whispered-yelled as she took a picture of our adorable elf.

Yes, my sister is here too.

She got out of work early and wanted to talk to me about our cousin's problem, but got distracted with my students and got captivated by Freya's cuteness and now, she'll be staying for the night.

I just let them be and set aside ten huge containers of cooked meat and asked my little trustee shadow to deliver it to the old man and the others, but strictly said to not give it up without the money bag. They might be important for me, but business is business. I can't give away food for free because they're rich, and my team needed the funds for our next trip. Why give it for free when they can afford it? Besides, they're the ones who say they have to pay because if they took it for free, they might not be able to eat with their personal chef's cooking. Cause why spend money on people when I can cook for them for free? Moral of the story: Always take the money. You never know when you're going to need it.

Side note : You need rich friends. They'll pay you for your worth and do not make you overwork.

Side-side note : Choose wisely.

A beep from the oven made me rush towards it. The steam got out, and now I'm staring at the meal that was wrapped in foil. I took it out and after opening the foil, the sweet and juicy aroma of the ham went out.

I took a few slices and joined the others.

My sister, who was gushing over our healer, ran to the kitchen after seeing the slices of ham on my plate. She got back with bigger slices on her plate and was carrying a soda in a can that looked like a random drop from an S-class beast that was gifted to me by a previous student of mine.

I eyed her drink. "Did you get that from my collection?"

She rolled her eyes at me. "You mean the fridge? Yes."

"I don't have a fridge."

"Then, you have the answer." she proceeds to open the can. Begrudgingly, I held up a cup towards her and I watched her as she eyed me with a knowing smirk before pouring some into my cup. "Better drink than getting it wasted on the shelf." She poured her portion in another cup and tossed me the empty can. "Now, you can display it." she stated as she grins. Sometimes, I hate it when she's right. I made a shadow appear and put the empty can on the display board to where it came from.

Before I could speak again, her face turned serious. "Have you heard the news?"

"What news?" I asked and, with a snap of her fingers, a barrier enveloped us, making our conversation private.

"It's about the Paladin and the Saintess," she stated before eating a spoonful.

I swallowed before answering. "What about them? They're always in the news, so it's hard to keep up."

She took a sip of the soda and closed her eyes as she felt the fizz. "So good," she commented before going back to the topic. "They're no longer dating."

I took a sip of my soda to not spit out my meal. I was shocked by the information. "What on earth happened? Fuck! That Kaito had to get his mind straight. The Saintess is a million times more than his worth!" I ranted as I could not believe that it had happened.

"I know right?" She chugged a glass of beer that she grabbed out of nowhere. "That motherfucker does not deserve our Saintess!"

"Yes!" I agreed as I also summoned a huge barrel of wine to our table and presented it to her. "Dragon's Breath, limited edition, five-star." I filled my mug and drank it up. "Made for a special god dang occasion!" I said as my voice got louder. We are both light weight and this is one of the strongest wines in my possession.

She took her fill. "That stupid Kaito had to be so fuckin stupid to leave the goddess for a mere peasant!" she hit the table with her fist. Good thing it was made of an unbreakable item, or else it would have cracked. (Yet the table disappeared as it crumpled into dust.) Nevermind.

I chugged another for my table's death. May it rest wherever it is. "How the heck did he meet her? She's a sweet goddess, and he's trash!"

Yumi was in tears. "He left her exactly before Valentine, bitch!"

"Yeah! Bitch!" we raised our mugs and drank at the same time and sighed after drinking.

Don't mind us. We were just heartbroken fans.

Way back eight years ago, when she first joined as an apprentice healer on a tower clearing, my sister and I didn't understand the hype of the new concept of live-streaming for tower clearing. The live-stream was still a group stream composed of fifteen to thirty individuals who were trying to clear just a whole floor. Most people you would see were either elderly men, proud youngsters, overacting ladies that we can't understand why they were allowed in a tower clearance when all they did was scream, nerds who kept yapping about RPG facts that don't really apply much in real life, emo's who wanted to die, and scammers who steal drops and sabotage the group. It was a whole angst, drama, comedy, and parody. All in one setting, so we didn't really stay in just one stream and just kept scrolling, until... we got into the stream that involves clearing a new unexplored tower. Everyone was notified that there was a possibility of death upon entering, aside from the young healer apprentice who did not have access to a status window. You heard it right! An un-awakened superhuman was dragged inside a poison tower! We found out about her on her very first stream, in her first tower clearance, before she was awakened! That is the very reason why we were so close to killing our cousin when we saw him kissing the saintess on their first tower clearing together about a year ago! My sister almost sent her troops to destroy the whole area of the Paladin of Light Guild. If it was not for the new conditions in our latest contract, we would've gone to his place too and ransacked it or perhaps burned it together with him being trapped inside and act like nothing happened and like he never existed!

We got so wasted, and my mind had turned black.

Arthur was holding back Yami as he was trying to break the television after seeing Kaito's face in an advertisement during a drama's commercial break. Yumi, who was not really restricted but was also angry, was also not in the right mind, so instead of doing it herself, she decided on cheering for her brother.

"Wohoooo! Break it! Break it! Break it!" She started chanting as she cheered like a kid who was spectating a fight but was also staying calm because she was holding Freya in her arms and was just baby-talking her earlier.

Cassius, on the other hand, tried switching channels, but since the Paladin is famous, there's no channel he's not on.

Claire was giggling in the background as she waited in anticipation for when their teacher could escape from Arthur's intense bear hug.

Marcus was holding back his laughters as he was filming the whole situation. His eyes widened as he saw Yami tripping Arthur with his legs, pushing him down, and tried grabbing the huge table to smash the television.

Arthur was holding onto Yami's right leg as if he would die if he ever let go and Cassius, who was standing near the two, dived on the floor towards Yami, to hold onto his other leg. But he realized it was a mistake because the man was now only a meter away from the television. Upon seeing the distance, Yami grabbed the nearest table to complete his mission.

Gab, who had just got out of the bathroom, was completely unaware of the situation. Yet after seeing Arthur and Cassius, he immediately sprinted towards the commotion and put himself onto the table to add weight, so it wouldn't be lifted.

Yami struggled to get the guys off and Yumi's laughter was starting to irritate him, so he started glaring at her. The woman who was holding an angel started to turn serious as she thought he was glaring at Freya.

She hugged Freya closer to her. "You can't take her," she stated, viewing him as a threat. "She's mine!" and she pouted like a child as she pressed their cheeks together, still eyeing Yami's movements.

He got more irritated with the sound of her voice, so he snapped,"Shut up!"

Yumi handed Claire, Freya and the other lady did not protest and held her friend as she gulped hard. 'This can't be good', she said in her mind.

The woman cracked her fingers and started to jog as she stretched herself, ready to fight. The younger sibling cracked his knuckles too. This is it. Another sibling fight. They were about to clash when the doorbell rang.

It's already midnight and no one else would ever like to hear a doorbell sound at this time of the day.

The alcohol effects seemed to fly away from their systems, and they started acting civil and arranged everything back in place and sat down as if nothing happened.

Cassius, the only one who had the courage (the one being pushed by his teammates as they were scared to know who was outside), took a peek at the door hole just to see a woman in heels standing in front of the door. He shrugged. It must have been Yami's girlfriend.

He opened the door and greeted her,"Hello, Madam, welcome." She just nodded her head.

He held the door for her and motioned her to come in, and she hung her coat on an invisible stand and Cassius was in awe, as he didn't know about that feature of Yami's house.

She had to be his girlfriend!

The woman stopped in her tracks and put her hands on her waist. "Camila Krystal Assuncion Liev!"

They all got scared as someone's real name had just been dropped. "Care to explain why you are not home? No messages, no phone calls, no voicemail, nada!"

"Mi corazon-," the woman was silent and not a word was heard as she shushed herself as a pointer finger was being raised by the newcomer.

"Celia-" a glare made Yami shut up. "I didn't say you could talk." the man made a zipped motion to his mouth as he nodded his head.

"Señor?" she asked towards Arthur. "Did anything happen before I arrived?"

The old man was about to lie but Yami and Yumi gestured at him to nod over and over again, making him choose the safer answer. So instead, he just nodded twice. The woman walked around, and only the television was talking as she observed the place. After getting in front of the tele, as it was in the center, she stopped moving and tried analyzing the whole picture.

No one said a word.

"Paladins Unite!" before the ad could go on, the television was punched into bits of pieces.

The teenagers dropped their jaws at the scene. All their hard work in saving it from Yami was pointless as it still got broken.

The woman blew away the bits that got on her knuckles. "Now, where were we?"

XxXx Chapter Ending Scenario xXxX

(Inserting the chibi version of the two of them worshiping the saintess on the television and throwing flower petals on the Saintess' statue while stepping on a trash bag that has Kaito in his full Paladin armor in a picture. Yumi threw it far away towards the sky. It landed on a deserted land, but Yami teleported to the place using devour and started pouring fuel all over the place, lit a match, and burned it to crisp. End of clip.)
