Atop the city tower, the flag that represented Jia City fluttered in the wind.
The people of Qi Country favored purple.
Yang Country originally revered the red sun as its totem and held the color red sacred, but since becoming a vassal state to Qi Country, the prevailing tastes had gradually changed.
Now, the mainstream also regarded purple as the color of prestige.
Yet, a few places still preserved the tradition. Jia City was one of them.
The flag of Jia City was based in red, with carp patterns embroidered along the edges, and an inscribed Yang character "Jia" at the center—places where the script of Yang Country could still be seen were probably just on these kinds of flags.
Whether willing or not, the entire officialdom of Yang Country was already adopting the script of Qi Country.
