Ivita lifted her head and used her Hand of Mana to create a repulsive anti-gravitational force, causing the concealed door leading to the first floor above her to spring open.
As soon as the door opened, Ivita saw an assassin dressed in a black robe chasing the Mermaid witch. His dagger was dripping with fresh blood, and the Mermaid witch's back and belly were scarred with wounds inflicted by the very dagger.
But the Mermaid witch, after all, was a certified witch. The wounds on her body hissed, emitting white smoke, then rapidly healed.
Ivita wasn't sure if this was her innate magic as a witch, or an inherent trait of her Mermaid clan.
Seeing that the dagger caused minimal damage to the Mermaid witch, the assassin instantly made a prayer-like gesture and began chanting, "I swear to money, I am loyal to money all my life, and I can do anything for money. Money is my only parent and sibling."
