Inside a building at the Transfer Port, McLoughlin Valji, the son of the Valji Family Head, was in his office dealing with family business documents.
Looking at the financial reports for the previous two quarters, he sighed and said to the two stewards handling the stores in the Transfer Port, "Our sales of extraordinary materials at the Transfer Port earn us upwards of 4800 gold pounds every three months which seems quite good. However, maintaining our fleet and employees here costs us a thousand gold pounds each month. In other words, we only actually make about 1800 gold pounds every three months."
"And the family has other expenses, so it's pretty much impossible to save money annually."
McLoughlin Valji squinted his eyes at the two stewards. "The main source of goods for our family's business comes from our own fleet —one-third of it— and the remaining two-thirds come from pirates at Cross Island and the Transfer Port."
