Once Kristin and the hunters were gone, both Ivita and Maximilian heaved sighs of relief.
When they returned to Maximilian's castle, they found that the three little bearmen who had run away earlier were hiding in a corner of the castle. The three baby black bears were huddled together, providing each other with a sense of security.
Ivita sensed the Ice Witch getting closer to him, so he said to Maximilian, "I won't go into the castle."
"But you said we would be allies in the future."
"Does that still stand?"
Maximilian's eyes lit up as he extended his hand to Ivita, saying, "Of course. Having a powerful wizard like you as an ally is absolutely beneficial to me."
"Do you have enemies now? Do you need my help?"
Ivita thought for a moment and shook his head as Maximilian's position in Marlinna City was still unstable.
If he left now to help him deal with the witch cemetery, it could worsen his situation.
