The main body of the Hall of Mind was a lakeside library.
The lake was calm and waveless, its water azure and pure, reflecting the library within it.
The reflection of the library beneath the surface of the lake held all the true memories, including past lives, the existence of the Krypton Card Drawing System, and traces of the "Mind Closure Technique" itself.
What remained in the physical library by the lake were the original life experiences and actions and thoughts that conformed to the character setup of a blacksmith's son on remote islands, after Link's soul transmigrated.
Everything that could expose Link as a transmigrator was carefully hidden by Link within the reflection under the lake.
After completing the Hall of Mind, Link discovered an additional benefit; he had gained a photographic memory.
Hmm... to be precise, as long as Link sorted all the experiences of the day into categories and stored them in the library each day, he could remember every image he had seen, every sound he heard, the texture of every object he touched, and every scent he smelled.
Also, since Link had practiced the "Mind Closure Technique" to its highest realm, he didn't have to worry about the overload of his brain's capacity due to too much stored memory.
In a nutshell, "Mind Closure Technique" was great; those who used it knew!
...
Five days had passed.
The White Sail had reached the main Continent and docked at a pier in the Tudor District Manham Port on the West Coast.
Link finally saw Wizard Palo again.
But it was only a brief glimpse. He saw from afar as Wizard Palo and a few other wizards had left the ship early and boarded a small flying device moored at the port's dock, heading to an unknown destination.
Yes, a flying device, a very beautiful flying device, much more beautiful than any sci-fi warplane concept art Link had seen online in his previous life.
Its smooth lines, exquisite design, and elegant posture had deeply mesmerized Link at first sight.
He was utterly amazed and his desire to possess it surged instantly.
Link felt like a Shaanxi version of himself had taken up residence in his heart, frantically shouting, "Eh dear, eh dear, it's all eh dear."
"What are you looking at?"
Seeing Link lost in thought, Jimmy, or Big Eyes Jimmy as he was known, asked curiously.
As the White Sail Ship was about to enter the port, five people from the Quete Archipelago had gathered together on the deck in advance.
"Nothing."
Link shook his head and withdrew his gaze; the flying device had long since flown out of sight.
"I just saw Wizard Palo."
Christina, who usually had a very low presence, said softly.
"I saw him too."
Chris and Jasmine chimed in together.
A look of astonishment flashed across Jimmy's face; previously, he had been captivated by an excessively voluptuous beauty.
He thought Link had been daydreaming about the beauty and wanted to test Link's taste.
"Ah!"
Jimmy opened his mouth slightly, embarrassed, and quickly changed the subject, "Let's walk further ahead; it's too crowded here, better to move fast so we can disembark early."
Indeed, it was quite crowded.
During the five days at sea, Link had been staying indoors, unaware of how many New Bloods the White Sail actually carried.
Only now did Link realize that the White Sail had carried at least 2000 people.
From just one Quete Archipelago, eight large and small noble territories had selected only five people who met the requirements.
Even if the proportions from different islands varied, with some having more and some having fewer, the differences wouldn't be too great.
Link quickly calculated; the Stormy Sea must have had at least four hundred islands.
This was an assumption based on the average size and population of the Quete Archipelago, and the numbers should be fairly reliable.
However, this was just the number of islands in the Stormy Sea off the West Coast of the main Continent; there were also the Endless Sea off the East Coast, the North Ocean in the north, and the South Ocean in the south.
A glimpse offers but a fraction, revealing how vast the Wizard World truly is, far beyond the average person's imagination.
"Everyone has looked through the brochure, do any of you want to join a Wizard Organization?"
Link asked casually while slowly making his way through the crowded room, having nothing better to do.
"I'm planning to join the Metal and Flame Business Society to become an apprentice specializing in mechanics."
Jimmy was the first to respond.
He had a high affinity for both Metal and Flame Elements, which indeed suited him well.
However, a business society is not like a college. Although the economic benefits are somewhat better in the short term, in the long run, the personal development ceiling could be slightly lower.
One could only say, "You win some, you lose some."
"We plan to go to Shadow City."
Chris continued, mentioning that he and his siblings had an affinity for the rather rare Shadow Element.
According to the "Overview of Wizard Organizations in the Tudor Region of the West Coast," there were only three places suitable for "New Blood" with an affinity for the Shadow Element: Shadow City, Night Curtain Society, and Dacknes University.
The Night Curtain Society had high entry requirements—only accepting new wizards with fourth rank qualifications and above.
Chris and Christina's Wizard Qualifications were both upper third rank, which did not meet the Night Curtain Society's standards.
Dacknes University, on the other hand, might require new blood to participate in human experiments led by their mentors.
For safety reasons, Chris and Christina decided against Dacknes University.
Thus, Shadow City became their best and only suitable option.
"What about you, Jasmine?"
Link turned his head to look at the wealthy Jasmine Kidman.
Jasmine wrinkled her nose, somewhat conflicted. She had an affinity for three Elements, which actually gave her a wide range of choices.
Yet the more options there were, the harder it was to decide.
After some thought, a light bulb went off in Jasmine's head when she suddenly remembered that Link had a high affinity for both the Water and Wood Elements, which overlapped with two of her three affinities.
Perhaps Link's choice could serve as a point of reference for her?
So, Jasmine asked in return, "Where do you plan to go, Link?"
"Ravensmouth Biological and Medical College."
There was no harm in being upfront, so Link straightforwardly shared his decision.
Jasmine continued, "Can you tell me why?"
"I don't like fighting; I think planting flowers, tending to animals, and treating people suits my character."
Link shrugged, expressing his genuine thoughts.
"Oh, that…"
Jasmine did not expect Link to answer that way.
But after pondering for a while, the more she thought about it, the more she found Link's reasoning sound.
Having been born into a noble family, Jasmine understood the Wizard World a bit more than the average civilian. She knew that conflicts between individual wizards and Wizard Organizations were common occurrences.
But constant fighting was dangerous—being in logistics and medical services seemed perfect for her.
Jasmine's lips curved into a smile, her mood uplifted as she said cheerfully, "I also plan to go to Ravensmouth Biological and Medical College."
Link raised an eyebrow, a bit surprised by Jasmine's decision but not caught off guard.
With an affinity for the Water, Wood, and Earth Elements, Jasmine was actually the best fit for Ravensmouth Biological and Medical College, even more so than Link himself.
He just did not anticipate that Jasmine had made up her mind largely because of what he had just said.
Fortunately, Link was not an utterly naive young man, harboring no delusions such as "Does she like me?"
