What is framing?
Metaphorically, it means to limit within a certain scope.
Linking Lotson's words with those of Elise Clark, Link could very well understand what Lotson meant by "which way to go next."
"Thanks."
Having realized this point, Link immediately offered verbal thanks.
"You're welcome."
Lotson raised an eyebrow, then said, "If you really want to thank me, cooperate better next time, don't be so oblivious to humor."
The so-called "oblivious to humor" referred to Lotson using some scenes and lines from the movie "New World" to be playful, and Link, apart from frowning slightly and asking a question, had no other reaction.
Even when Lotson wanted to steer the conversation back to "New World," he was met with an extremely curt refusal.
"I don't like jokes."
