Killing a level six sage in such a manner, as easily as crushing an ant, was not something Link found joy in.
He even found it rather detestable.
There were many reasons for this.
The biggest one, of course, was that it made Link feel like an ant himself.

One reason was to avenge Christina, to rid Garona's life of hatred.
