The scholar, having just emerged from the examination grounds, hurriedly walked his donkey out of the city. Just as he was halfway through his journey, the heavens seemed to frown upon him and poured forth a sudden shower.
The rain was neither too heavy nor too light. The scholar himself was unbothered, but the box of books he carried was precious beyond measure. As he was on the verge of despair, he spotted a small pavilion ahead. Elated, he quickly ushered his donkey towards it to take shelter from the rain.
Once they reached the pavilion, he unloaded the book box from the donkey and placed it in the middle of the pavilion. He heaved a sigh of relief and turned around to sit down.
However, the sight that met his eyes as he turned almost knocked him off his feet - there was a man standing quietly just outside the pavilion!
