According to the original trajectory, after they had suppressed the resistance of the Primal Chaos Realm's world will, they should have been fully corrupted by the Eyes of Dusk and fallen into the state of demons of twilight.
However, the emergence of Amaterasu defeated the Eyes of Dusk and purged Ying Island anew, allowing the three Great Demon Kings to avoid the fate of becoming demons of twilight.
Even so, there was still a remainder of twilight's essence within their bodies, and should a higher pantheon position of twilight's will descend, it would exert an irresistible and overwhelming suppression over them.
