It was already at the end of the southern border of Transia, and not far from the pass where the Klim Fortress occupied by the Nordtoff Kingdom was located.
After the first Black Disaster, the massive fortress, built by the Blood Vulture Clan and the Duchy of Kavkhoka with countless resources and energy, was strategically important. It guarded the only entrance from the Polluted Swamp to the fertile plains.
The fortress had withstood the first onslaught of the jackal army in the three subsequent Black Disasters and had never been breached. However, no fortification could withstand a collapse from within.
Towards the end of the Ten-Year War, to be precise, one day last month, the garrison at the Klim Fortress surrendered to the Winter Wolves Legion, announcing that the fortress on the border between Transia and the Kavkhoka Plains had fallen into the hands of the northerners.
