Just as the battered barbarian soldier managed to rise and licked the blood off his fur, a voice burst out from the shadows behind him, causing the injured gnoll to turn his head with difficulty.
He saw a dwarf in a hood, holding a bag of money, walking towards him.
But this was not a human!
The gnoll's keen sense of smell told him that this guy had the same scent as himself. Was this also a gnoll?
"You probably don't know me, but that doesn't matter."
Hog slid back his hood with his clawed hand, his green eyes scrutinizing the novice gladiator before him, who had one win and one loss.
He opened his mouth full of sharp teeth and said,
"I can save you!"

The Gnoll gladiator stared with wide eyes, looking not particularly bright.
"I've made a deal with the boss of the Blood Rat Gang. For every fifty ghouls I kill, I can help one of my own leave the arena. It's not easy, but I feel like I should do something for my brethren."
