The players who wanted to follow the plot while also fishing for their chance to interact with the Rich Lolita were already making their "story branch choices", so Murphy, in his role as an "NPC", naturally had to fulfill their wishes.
He left his two assistants behind to tend to Lady Adel and guard the "task items" they had stolen from the Golden Flower transport team, then gave the order and led the eleven excited and fully armed players – who, in the literal sense, had upgraded from muskets to stronger weapons – towards the area where the Midnight Hunters and the transport team's main forces were battling.
In this world, the bolt-action rifles that had just been developed weren't necessarily more effective than cold weapons in small-scale battles, but the players clearly had more faith in these long-range weapons that could be discharged with a pull of the trigger.
