Daoist Master Shenxu, Bai Wuxiang, the contemporary head of Shenxu Temple, was born here and, apart from his three thousand incarnations, hardly ever left Shenxu Temple. Although Shenxu Temple has always recruited outsiders as guardians, there had never been an instance where an outsider became the temple head. To become the temple head, one had to be a direct successor, born and raised within the temple like him, to ensure that the abilities would not be misused.
