Lukas woke up again.
The pain was gone, for the most part.
His exhaustion wasn't, but that was okay.
The ghoul inactivity hadn't ended yet, or at least Lukas didn't hear the signal to call it off. Which meant he didn't have to go out and fight ghasts and ghouls. He had no obligation to, no one did.
When there aren't any ghouls/ghasts, or rather a significant decrease in their numbers, no one is forced to go out. That's the whole point of the inactivity. It means one doesn't have to go out, it means people can rest, heal, and de-stress from everything.
Of course, if no one went out, who knows how many people could be hurt. Or worse, how many ghouls and ghast might end up finding Mystic Camp and attacking it.
So, some people do go out. Not out of an obligation to do so, not because they were told to, but because they want to, or just simply can.
