Lukas collapsed under a small drop in the earth. The majority of his now-sitting body was hidden by the ground, the rest was hidden by a tree that obscured the rest of his frame. He had a hand on his chest and another still gripping his tachi.
A screech tore through the forest and many people around him covered their ears. It was a cry of anger.
Lukas sighed.
"It's mad."
Cary was next to him, less exhausted than Lukas was, but tired in a different way. Despite this, in that current moment, he seemed more composed than Lukas was.
"Of course it is," he said, "Axel hoped it would calm down. But I think he also knew it wouldn't."
Lukas let his arms fall limp as he turned to Cary.
"Are you trying to stop it from doing... whatever it is right now? Because I think making it angrier is making the problem worse."
Cary nodded his head.
Lukas closed his eyes and let his body rest, something it most certainly needed.
