Deep in the night, Lukas couldn't sleep. He had fallen into a pit of endless spiralling thoughts, overthinking his purpose in the world and his strength. He wondered what would happen in Mystic Camp, and if he would have the strength to do it... and if he wanted to.
But, deep down, he knew on some level he had to, no matter his feelings. Partially because he was directly ordered to, but even beyond that, he had to otherwise something far worse could happen. However, due to his nonstop internal ramblings and the heat of the early summer, his body refused to let him sleep.
Late into the night, or perhaps early in the morning, Axel returned to the room. Lukas watched Axel enter and stirred slightly to try to rush himself to sleep, but it was to no avail. Unsurprisingly, Axel noticed Lukas' alertness.
"Why are you awake? Don't you need to leave tomorrow?"
"Yeah..." Lukas mumbled, "But I can't sleep."
"Too bad."
