Chapter 108 - Return to Snakewell

The sunlight streaming through the leaves and branches danced across Lukas' face. He woke up like any other day, beyond being a little sore, he was fine. 

He carefully descended from the tree and stretched his stiff muscles. The ground was soft and lightly damp, but not sinking and wet. The forest floor around him was also largely covered in moss, helping keep mud off the bottom of his feet.

He gathered his things, had a quick bite to eat from the dry rations in his pack, and carried on.

There wasn't much left for him to travel through. If he was fast, he would probably arrive with a little light to spare. If not, he might arrive sometime between midnight and the coming dawn. There was always the off chance it took him longer too. But he was hoping it was a chance, not a guarantee.
