He took Axel to the empty bed in his room before gathering his weapons and returning out into the grassy field. There, he sat and listened. Patiently he focused on the world. His beating heart in the darkness of night. The low whisper of the wind, the rustling of leaves.
But it was just noise.
He continued to listen as time flew past him. Until the warmth of the morning sun hit his skin that is. Only then did he give up for now. After a quick breakfast, he returned to the training room and practised what Karve taught him the day prior.
'...in reaction to something... ...one thing at a time... ...open up my mind...'
He practised moving as if in a fight, his eyes were closed and his attention focused on how his body moved. He repeated his exercise, slow it down, break it down, build it up again, and lastly speed it up.
A few hours passed like that until Karve entered the room.
"I was beginning to wonder where you were."
