After about five minutes of conversation, Bene cut Lukas off and returned to their test.
"Simpler test this time. I will be thinking of a number, you have to get that information from me. When I tell you the number, I will show it to you on my fingers. Before we begin, however, I should ask, are you aware of how to count higher numbers?"
Lukas looked confused.
"Yes?"
Bene chuckled.
"Just making sure, you did live with your family on the outskirts of Shorstone. I wasn't sure how much you knew."
Bene thought for a moment before nodding slightly.
"Go ahead and do whatever you need to."
Lukas wanted to sit up now that he was more awake. It was annoying to lie down without any movement for this long. But, it was painful to move and he wasn't sure how sitting would affect him as opposed to lying down.
He had turned to his side by this point. It wasn't as painless, but it was a little bit more comfortable than being on his back.
