Lukas and Cary made their approach with caution and careful intent. They watched the fight closely, as much as they could considering how fast the two of them were moving. They waited for an opening, but one never came.
The ghast was slower than Kai, but that didn't mean much when it could hit far harder than he ever could. All the ghast needed to do to hit Kai was predict where he was headed. Something that, even with its limited intelligence, the ghast seemed mighty capable of. That being said, Kai rarely got hit.
Kai was no fool. He was young, but he wasn't inexperienced. He was a lot like Lukas, a young talented kid brimming with potential. But Kai had experience, and he had power. Whereas Lukas had potential, far more than Kai's, and he had adaptability.
