The start of their day went well enough, as well as it could. For the first hour, it was nothing but silence, at least regarding calls for help. The forest was always filled with noise, not even mentioning the abundant sound of screeching whistles Lukas had become slightly adjusted to.
By the time they began patrolling the rough region they were assigned to, that was when the first signals came out over the treetops. After that point, they came in more rapidly than ever before the day prior.
The trio had nearly run themselves dry before the day was halfway over. They themselves never received any back-up either. No other recovery teams arrived at any of the other calls they went to. Thankfully for them, the period of rapid calls for help only lasted around two hours. It quickly slowed down, all ghoul activity did sometime before midday. It picked up once more a few hours later and it never fully went quiet, not typical of ghoul inactivity.
