Lukas looked over the mound of removed earth, as well as the hole it came from. Among the duo's list of objectives they wished to accomplish, having Oak test how much material his Frequency could be used on at once was on the list. Oak insisted on doing it first, even though Lukas suggested it wouldn't be the best idea.
But, they had crossed out two objectives in one action, as during Oak's test of exertion, he accidentally used his Frequency on at least one worm, bug, or otherwise ground-dwelling creature, thus proving he could, in fact, use his Frequency on living creatures.
While Oak was regaining his stamina, Lukas wanted to observe the mound he used his Frequency on–as well as the gap in the earth it left behind. He wanted to see if Oak's Frequency had any other effects on the material or what lay within it, as well as if any other of the objectives they wanted to test had been completed by accident at the same time.
