A few hours past midnight, Oak tripped and stumbled on something unseen by his foot. He didn't see it in the lantern light and promptly fell to the forest floor.
Lukas, who had held the lantern, handed it over to Axel as he bent down to help Oak. Axel, still as silent as ever, did take the lantern from Lukas, although it was likely out of instinct as it was handed to him.
"Are you okay?" Lukas asked.
Oak pushed himself off the ground and eventually got on his knees. He nodded in response to Lukas' question and began to wipe the dirt, mud, leaves, and moss that now covered most of his torso and face.
As he stood, it was with an off-balance stumble that nearly resulted in him falling again. After regaining his balance, he leaned on a nearby tree as he continued to clean the dirt and mud off of him.
"Are you okay?"
