Sitting at the edge of a rooftop, Itadori observed the massive black barrier that separated Sendai's territory from the rest of Japan.

After leaving Tokyo's barrier, he wasted no time and immediately began moving toward Sendai. The barriers were significantly far apart, but Itadori didn't see any issue in covering long distances, especially now that he had a technique that could enhance his speed.

Even so, it took him longer than anticipated due to dealing with some curses along the way. While the curses might have been more concentrated inside the barriers due to the massive amount of cursed energy drawing them in, the rest of Japan was far from being in a stable situation.

Curses had become more active, ranging from the weakest to the most powerful, and the only reason the situation hadn't devolved into total chaos was the general skepticism.

Most people still couldn't see curses, leading them to concoct theory after theory to explain the barriers and everything else that was happening.

This helped the government maintain some semblance of control—at least to a certain extent.

But with everything going on, it wouldn't be an exaggeration to say that Japan was teetering on the edge of becoming a dystopian nation.

"Mm~"

Blinking when he heard a purr near his legs, Itadori looked down to see Kogane nestled comfortably while he patted its head.

It made him smile. Kogane was a bit odd, but it was cute. He felt like he could pet it for a good while.

'...' Stroking the small shikigami for a few more seconds, he froze as a strange sensation resonated from his soul. 'Why did my innate domain suddenly tremble?'

He wondered, unaware that, inside his domain, a massive wolf that had been neglected for some time howled in dissatisfaction, its paws stomping the ground in irritation.

'How strange…' Unconcerned, Itadori simply shrugged as he lifted Kogane, the shikigami vanishing.

His gaze returned to the massive barrier, and he stretched his arms and legs.

The only reason he had chosen the Sendai Colony was because it housed a player with an interesting technique—a skill he felt would be extremely useful, especially in his own battles.

When it came to defensive power, it wasn't a lie to say that Itadori's best shield was his own body.

Aside from plant manipulation and Idle Transfiguration, the rest of his techniques were purely offensive.

Even his only defensive techniques weren't all that reliable. The cursed energy plants were weak and couldn't withstand powerful attacks. As for Idle Transfiguration, its defensive capacity depended on souls, which still wouldn't be very effective against large-scale attacks.

Moreover, unlike Mahito, who could reshape his body at will, Itadori was limited to his human form.

For this reason, he came to this colony with one goal in mind:

To meet Takako Uro.

Sky Manipulation was a powerful technique—not in terms of causing damage, but for its defensive capabilities.

The ability to divert the trajectory of any attack was incredibly tempting.

Of course, there must be limitations, but Itadori wasn't too worried about that. If this technique were in his hands, he would make sure to explore every aspect of it, as it would be crucial in his battles against Kenjaku and Yorozu.

And how would he obtain this technique?

Simple—he would politely ask Uro to give up one of her fingers for him to consume.

And if that didn't work? Well, he would take it by force.

It might sound cruel, but these sorcerers didn't belong to this era and cared only about battles. Itadori wouldn't mind leaving her alive, but he wouldn't hesitate to kill her if she refused to give him what he wanted.

He already had too many problems to deal with and had no intention of helping an ancient sorcerer learn the value of life.

Even if she was beautiful...

"..." Sighing, he pushed those thoughts aside and leaped from the building toward the barrier. After practicing Jogo's technique while moving, he finally managed to propel himself with flames effectively, even wondering why the curse hadn't used it more often.

'He was a curse with a short lifespan, so he probably didn't fully explore his own technique…' Itadori thought, slowing his descent with flames erupting from his legs. 'Still, if he had known how to use it back then, he could have been an even bigger problem.'

As his eyes turned to the darkness of the barrier, he glanced back at the city behind him for a moment before focusing on the barrier again.

'It's time.'

Taking a step forward, he completely ignored Kogane's inquiry about whether he wanted to enter the colony.

.

"Aww, what a drag~"

Lying on a park bench, Ryu Ishigori spoke with a bored yawn escaping his mouth, his eyes opening and closing as he wiped away sleepy tears.

After his intense battle against Yuta Okkotsu, he found himself in a crisis of boredom, even though only a day had passed since Yuta's departure.

As a reincarnated sorcerer, the only reason he chose to return after his death was to enjoy his second life with a feast! Since the sorcerers of his era turned out to be unimpressive, he had been deeply unsatisfied and almost immediately accepted Kenjaku's proposal.

In the end, he felt he had made the right choice. After all, his fight with Yuta filled his metaphorical stomach in a way no opponent had managed before!

But now, with the battle only a memory, he felt his stomach empty once again.

Sure, the memories of the fight were pleasant, but in the end, that's all they were—memories! Could you fill your stomach with an imaginary cake? Obviously not!

That's why he felt so bored. He wanted to fight Yuta again, to feel those powerful strikes and even face that terrifying curse that accompanied the modern sorcerer once more!

But he couldn't, after all…

"Wait…" Blinking as realization struck him, Ryu sat up urgently. "KOGANE!"

He called almost desperately, the small shikigami with hearts for eyes appearing at his summons.

"Yes, handsome?~"

"Show me the rules again!"

So absorbed in his own world after Yuta left, he had paid little attention when Kogane announced a new rule.

"Of course~"

The flirtatious shikigami obeyed his request, displaying a panel in front of Ryu, who stroked his chin while scanning the most recent rules.

And as he suspected, there it was—the rule that would solve all his problems.

[Rule 11: Players may enter and exit colonies.]

Ryu's eyes lit up as he read the rule, a wide grin spreading across his face as he abruptly stood.

"Even though we settled things in the end, Okkotsu, I'll have to apologize for this." Pulling a comb from his pocket, he began to elegantly fix his pompadour. "But I need you to fill my stomach once more!"

Stashing his comb, he shaped his hair with a few smooth movements of his fingers before finally turning toward the barrier.

"Here I come!"

Almost skipping toward the colony's edge, his smile never left his face.

Even though he had lost the fight against Yuta and been spared in the end, he didn't feel ashamed at the thought of facing the modern sorcerer again.

Ryu was the type who thrived on a fight as long as the opponent was strong! If they were stronger than him, then that was just a bonus!

He wasn't the type to seek revenge over a defeat!

In fact, it was the complete opposite!

...

Did that make any sense?

"Screw it!"

Shaking off the thought, Ryu continued on his way. He always had trouble thinking on an empty stomach.

But once he found Yuta, that would be resolved quickly!

With quick steps, it didn't take long for Ryu to reach the colony's edge, his eyes fixed on the massive black barrier stretching into the sky.

"All right, this is the moment!" With one last adjustment to his hair and jacket, he confidently faced forward. "I'm coming, Okkotsu!"

"...!"

Ryu, who was about to step through the barrier, froze when a massive surge of cursed energy hit his senses, his head snapping around abruptly to see a single foot crossing the barrier beside him.

"A player?"

He wondered, narrowing his eyes. Standing firmly in place, he watched as this player fully emerged from the barrier, their body cloaked in a mantle of cursed energy that signaled their vast reserves.

"This amount... It's slightly less than Okkotsu's!" Ryu felt his stomach rumble as he eyed the newcomer, his gaze filled with intrigue. "Is he a reincarnated sorcerer?"

!

But just as Ryu was about to approach, he froze when the newcomer's eyes landed on him.

"What is this? That intensity..." Ryu felt his body tense under that gaze, a nervous smile tugging at his lips as he stood his ground. "It's like...

The gaze of a predator!"

Ryu's interest deepened. "Looks like you'll have to wait a bit, Okkotsu!"

"..."

Opposite Ryu, a cautious Itadori scrutinized the strange man with narrowed eyes.

He recalled that this man was the one who had fought Yuta, a truly capable sorcerer who had pushed Yuta to exert himself.

But in Itadori's eyes, he wasn't much different from other sorcerers at this point.

He had no business with Ryu, so if this reincarnated sorcerer stayed out of his way, Itadori would simply leave him be.

His focus was on Uro, and he saw no reason to waste time on anyone else.

He intended to move on and ignore the strange sorcerer.

"Hey!"

But just as he was about to continue, Itadori widened his eyes as an immense amount of energy surged in an instant. He turned to see Ryu's pompadour glowing with concentrated power.

"Granite Blast!"

Boom!

Itadori was thrown back as a massive explosion hit him, his feet digging into the ground to halt his momentum.

"Acting so menacingly..." Ryu grinned as he watched steam rise from Itadori's skin, though there were no apparent injuries. "I'm starving, you know that?"

"..."

Itadori glanced at his hand, noticing his skin slightly torn from the impact. With an oddly calm sigh, he muttered:

"What a pain..." Then, facing forward to see his opponent preparing another beam, he allowed cursed energy to envelop his body. "And here I thought this would be easy..."

Ryu, seeing this with excited eyes, immediately prepared to unleash another devastating attack on his opponent.

"Huh?"

But just as he was about to fire, his eyes widened in shock as Itadori suddenly disappeared from sight.

"What the—"

And as he began to look around for his opponent, Ryu gasped as a fist struck his stomach with such force that his body was sent flying like a cannonball, crashing through several buildings before landing amidst the rubble of an abandoned apartment.

"What strength..." He coughed up a bit of blood, his eyes glancing down to see his abdomen bruised and purple. "Terrifying!"

"..." Despite the intense pain radiating from his stomach, Ryu couldn't help but crack a bloody smile, his eyes lighting up with excitement.

"This is going to be so damn fun!"
