An extremely crucial part of the story is the military, the military is practically the center of many events to come, with many characters being in the military at differing ranks.
The Fiberi Military System passed down to all the 7 Kingdoms that were a result of the Fiberi splitting apart.
First, the ranking system.
The ranking system is split into two main, the [Public Ranking System] and the [Executive Division].
1- The Public Ranking System: This is the most common way of entry, counting for over 90% of the total combined armies of the 7 Kingdoms, it is accessible through an examination, and depending on how well one does, they can start at differing ranks, but, most of the time, the given rank is very low, being the bottom of the barrel.
The Public Ranking System's ranks are as follows:
First, the rankers, the basic rank everyone gets on their examinations if they provide an average performance.
The rankers, if they do very well, can go into two routes, the active combatant route (Linesman), or the background aides route (Rearman).
The Linesmen advance into the second rank, the [Vanguard], if they fulfill a report on their duties for a minimum of 2 years, the report has to include as many feats as possible, the more feats included, the higher chance you'll be able to progress.
However, failure of advancing into the second rank puts you on hold for another two years.
When the second rank is achieved, the majority of the force hits a hard stop, the advancement rate thus far had been 30%, at the third rank, it drops to an extremely low 2%.
This is done for two main reasons, to ensure that absolute perfection is maintained without fault, and to root out any corruption.
How is the corruption rooted out? Well, the Fiberi have no business in dealing with spoiled brats and noble sons, every advancement to the third rank has an excruciatingly long examination that takes hardened warriors only, no matter what your aspiration might be, you'll have to take this exam.
Anyhow, the third rank of the [Linesman] class is the [Brigadier], and it is considered to be the first leading rank, as Brigadiers are able to have their own squadrons of ten people at maximum.
[Brigadier] is also the first rank that emphasizes authority, putting into motion the ancient Fiberi rule of "Higher rank equals higher power".
After the [Brigadier] rank are all the special rank ups that are accessible only to the highest most distinguished men, such as the [Major] and [Brigadier General] ranks, both being leading roles.
The highest rank a [Linesman] can achieve is [Autonomous Company Captain], and, as the name implies, a man with this role is granted an entire company free of restrictions and with a number that can go into the tens of thousands of people.
There are currently only three ACCs, Ilya-Fiberi having two of said people.
Back to the [Rearman] line, the [Rearman] class specializes in background command, support and maintenance, however, many Rearmen have the permission to enter the frontlines if they so wish.
The second rank a [Rearman] can achieve is [Supplier], and underwhelming as the name sounds, they carry a dangerous mission, that mission being delivering supplies ranging from weaponry, nutrition and what not to soldiers in the midst of the battlefield.
These soldiers also keep the supplies in check, if it wasn't obvious.
Now, there are two extremely clear differences between the [Rearman] and [Linesman] ranks, that being the progression.
Progression on the former's part is much easier, requiring a simple report of a year's service.
The difference in progression time brought about many internal conflicts, but all have been quelled, and to this day, that same speed of progression is maintained.
Why is it like that? Well, it is done as thwarting effort to stop Linesmen from getting a big head over the Rearmen, as the Rearmen have the same rank equals authority system the Linesmen have.
The third rank the [Rearman] class can go into is [Drill Master], and as the name implies, the [Drill Master] rank is capable of holding training camps in official military sites.
And as was previously stated, progression is much simpler in the [Rearman] line, needing only three years worth of service and a few documents providing evidence of an even fewer number of feats.
After the [Drill Master] rank, comes the special access classes, those are the same ones as the [Linesman] class, as those special class ranks have the combined authority of both classes.
Now, onto the second half of the ranking system, even though it's not half of the army corps, the [Executive Division].
The [Executive Division] consists of ranks attained through special entry, it is a force consisting of only the highest scoring individuals on the rankers exam.
Each year there are over a thousand new entries to this division.
This force has no set way of ranking up, thus, the ranking system for it won't be talked through.
Second part of the military is the numbers.
What is the spreading of the Ilya-Fiberi military?
Ilya-Fiberi has the highest amount of troops by sizeable margin, and the highest number of people in the [Executive Division].
The total armed force of Ilya-Fiberi number at about 1.3 million, that is more than the combined force of the three neighboring kingdoms.
An estimate of 100,000 of those people are in the [Executive Division].
Ilya-Fiberi has the highest amount of navy as well, which will be discussed further on.
There are over 300 people with authority in the army, not including the [Brigadier] rank.
The two [Autonomous Company Captain] ranks they have each have 50,000 troops that are not included in the army's total numbers.
